  1. To get the cache type to show in GSAK: Tools,Options,Display, Check cache type
  2. First thing I would do is backup your Oregon 450 onto your computer. That way if you delete something by mistake you can load it back to your GPS.
  3. Make sure you are saving your picture as a "JPEG".
  4. Renegade Knight is correct you delete the GPX file. Connect your Oregon to your computer. Find that connection e.g. Garmin Oregon(J:) on your computer. Click on it to open. Then click on Garmin, then GPX. Delete the GPX files that contains the geocaches. The other alternative is to load another GPX file with the same name excluding the geocaches you want to delete.
  5. Congratulations Spider on finding 1000 caches, oops I miss read this, its 1000 consecutive days of Geocaching. I was reading an interesting article in the New York Times that might appeal to you. A new support group has been formed called GA-Geocachers Anonymous!!!!!!
  6. When I add an image to a cache page my coding would be(example) <center><img src=img.geocaching.com/cache/log/display/4d39f71a-5aea-45d4-a84f-a660fa34b8a2.jpg"> Could it be because Slukster's coding does not reference "img.geocaching.com" the the Oregon is having the problem?
  7. I load my orgeon via GSAK. When there is one of Slukster's caches the description does not appear. You see the waypoint # and coordinates only but no description(verbage). If you look under hint the hint is there and if you look under the logs, the logs are there.
  8. Thanks for the repsonse DeLorme users. I know a lot of Oregon users have sent Emails/called Garmin requesting this feature be added to the Oregon so it picks up those coordinates.
  9. DeLorme users I was just curious if someone adds new coordinates to their log in geocaching via add waypoint are you able to see this in your downloaded logs in the DeLorme? An example of this can be seen in waypoint GC1REV7. If you check out my post (TheSurfcaster) on May18 or MBlatch's post on June 12 both of us posted revised coordinates because the original was off by 120 feet. When I download this one or anyone other one like it in the Oregon and read the logs I can not see the revised waypoints. The Oregon does not pick these up. Thanks.
  10. Where to Tides Select location e.g. South Amboy Hit the top rectangler box on the top of the page e.g South Amboy 10.07mi Graphic & table tide tables will show. If you touch the graphic one you can change the date and tide tables will show for that date.
  11. The Oregon, Colorado and PN40 are all priced over $200. NO. Your other option would be to purchase a palm and you could go paperless.
  12. No sure if this is what your asking but if you load a puzzle waypoint in GSAK it has some set of coordinates which are not the solution. Now you solve the puzzle. If you now go to that puzzle waypoint in GSAK and right click on it, then select corrected coordinates and input your puzzle solution. Now if you load another Pocket Query again into GSAK which includes that puzzle waypoint it will not override your solution coordiantes with the non solution coordinates on the original cache page. What you could also do is post this on the GSAK forum. They have some of the best support around.
  13. Don't get it second hand. Just call Garmin.
  14. If your using GSAK you may want to post this question on the GSAK forum. If it can be done via GSAK they will let you know. http://www.gsak.net/board/
  15. 1) Card Memory....Sytem>Menu>Card Info 2) Calibrate Compass....When you put in new batteries....Whenever the compass is not responding correctly...I do it often when geocaching when it is jumping around 3) Choose Routing Method....SetUp>Routing>Guidance Method If you set this to prompted and go to a geocache it will ask you road or off road. Use road to get there and them off road after you arrive 4) That is normal to be that distance
  16. Don't forget to take into consideration multi stage caches and puzzle caches. You may not know where these are and the may fall into the .10 range.
  17. I think Delorme has a policy that you can return the GPS to them for a full refund regardless of where you bought it. It has to be within 30 days of your purchase.
  18. Check out this link for batteries & chargers. http://www.thomas-distributing.com/index.htm
  19. Setup>Routing>Guidance Method:Off Road or On Road for Time or On Road for Distance
  20. For auto routing you want to get a Garmin. Thats their business, navigation. The PN40 in the auto routing mode is terrrible. If you make a wrong turn the PN40 never catches up to give you the corrected route.
  21. Selling a Palm Pilot/Tungsten E2 which I purchased new on 4/17/2007. Good condition. Grey half cover has small tear where it hinges open and close, small cover rub marks on top of palm. Has always been used with screen protector. Used it for paperless geocaching with cachemate. Includes software installation CD, HotSync cable, and charger. Selling because I'm now using an Garmin Oregon GPS. Selling price $65, includes shipping. USA sale only. Thanks for looking.
  22. As others said you must check your first to finds in GSAK. In GSAK hit tools, option, display. Then put a check by "First to Finds". This way when you look at your GSAK database you will see a column called "First to Finds". If you don't want to display certain columns in your data base you can remove the check.
  23. When you look up a cache description in the Oregon 400t and go down to the log section I'm not seeing the corrected waypoints a geocacher has entered via add waypoint to log. For cache GC1J6P9, Weathernowcast & Polskikrol both posted corrected coordinates because the original coordinates were ~50 feet off. When I look at the log in the Oregon 400t I'm not seeing them. I use GSAK to enter my geocaches into the Oregon. Just wondering if this is being lost by GSAK or is it something in the Oregon. If someone can load this cache(GC1J6P9) into their Oregon do see the coordinates? Thanks for the help.
