  1. Hi everyone! I'm new to geocaching but quickly getting hooked. My boyfriend and I got into it through our friends Brett (gp_man) and Laurie (bellydancer). Anyway, looking forward to getting out there (just went out and bought my own GPSr last night... so this weekend should be fun!!)
  2. Thanks everyone for the help!! This is potentially a stupid question, but I looked up the Legend on Garmin.com and Amazon.com and I didn't see anything about whether it is water-resistant or water-proof. I may have just overlooked it on the website, I don't know. I would assume it is water-resistant though, right...?? And is it pretty rugged & able to take a beating? (I know my cellphone takes severe abuse... much less a GPS that I'm going to be carrying around hiking LOL.) For some reason it looks more fragile to me than the Magellen units.
  3. Hi everyone! I was hoping I could get some help finding a good entry-level GPS for myself and my boyfriend. I'm hoping to spend roughly $200 or less. I went on my very first geocaching trip last night with friends, and loved it! They use a basic Magellan eXplorist 100, and are pretty happy with it (though one complaint our friend had was that it doesn't have PC connectivity). They paid $99 at Walmart for it. Another friend of ours reccently ordered a Magellen eXplorist 210, he hasn't gotten it in the mail yet though so he couldn't tell us if he liked it. I was looking at it on Amazon.com and it's $169.99, which is still within my budget. I'm kind of thinking about getting the eXplorist 210, but would like opinions or other suggestions that are within my budget. Thanks!!
