  1. E-mail sent for 1, thanks!
  2. I'm using a Axim X51 with a BT-338 GPSr (bluetooth) and I love it. I use OCN5 for navigation in the car and use navigator 2 for geocaching. Works great with both. Add to that GPXsonar and you have just about everything you need.
  3. Paid for two, thanks for the link!
  4. I won an auction (you know where) of 20 wooden geocoins. They look pretty nice but the back side of the coin is basically an ad for the websitte that sells them. Is this OK to leave in a cache or is it considered avertisement and a no-no?
  5. I'm a definate noob here so take my .02 for what it's worth but I made it a point to pack my swag bag with things that, I believe, others would like to find. This includes both items for children as well as adults. I believe IMHO that after enjoying the hunt (most important) that finding something of interest in the cache is the icing on the cake for both my son and myself. I don't mean that it has to be fancy or expensive but just that some thought was used in picking the item to leave.
  6. Congrats and Welcome to the club!
  7. Congrats, number 1 is always a blast!
  8. Alan2, thanks so very much for the info, looking into the siftwae now.
  9. Great thread, just started Geocaching with one find to date. Yesterday I was wondering around my home looking for something to leave at my next find and was totally confused as to what I use, I finally deide on a flashlight with batteries on the side. The weather turned on me so I was unable to go yesterday. Now I have some good ideas of what I an look for in the local stores. Thanks all for the help.
  10. I see that most of the replys are for Palm PDA's, I use a Windows Mobile base PDA (Axim X51, WM5) running navigator II and paired to a BT-339 GPS reciever to find the cache. Is there any other software I should be considering? TIA
  11. Congrats, made my first find today so I know just how yiou feel!
  12. Just wanted to say Hi! and say that my son and I made our first find today and both are addicted to this new hobby. Hope to be able to log many more finds in the future.
  13. Just wanted to say Hi to all! Will be attemping my first hunt as soon as it stops raining here in Staten Island NY. Geocaching seems like a great way to spend time outdoors and this looks like a great site to belong to and learn and learn and learn. Happy New Year to all!
