  1. How do you change the name? Thanks Russ Go to your travel bug's page. Click on the "Edit this item" link in the upper right hand corner. You can edit everything about your bug on that page.
  2. I have the Duluth vest and love it. Worked well for a recent cache trip around Los Angeles. I think I vagely remember that caching trek around Los Angeles. I was impressed, especially as I was carrying all of my geek supplies (digital camera, GPSr, PDA, cell phone, watch) on my person and I really didn't have enough pockets.
  3. I just recieved my first email that someone has visited one of my waymarks. When I looked, I also noticed that some other waymarks of mine have been visited, but I have received no email notifications for them? Is this something that's just going to happen, or is this still in the "getting fixed" stage?
  4. I agree with your suggestion of the subcategories. I didn't mean to highlight one particular religion, just used mine as an example. I think this would be a quality service of Waymarking. Glad to see you like it.
  5. Specifically, Catholic Churches, but there could be others in sub categories. When people travel, it's kind of nice to know where the latest place of worship is for them to attend. Should have the schedule of services on Sunday for the church, plus the waymark. Yea? Nay?
  6. I think I noticed that about a week ago. It's a nice little feature to have.
  7. I thought the purpose of Waymarking was to allow more people to log or visit certain waymarks and yet I've already noticed some waymarks that state I don't wish to identify the particular waymark at the time, but it's obviously a former locationless that has been moved over to Waymarking. Now, if I follow the letter of that waymark, I can submit only one waymark in that category. What happens if I find another that fits that category? I can't log it according to the directions of the owner of that particular waymark. Isn't this contrary to what Waymarking is about?
  8. Although I've logged Yellow Jeep Fever, there is an inherent difference with this particular one and most other waymarks. A jeep moves about, therefore, even if you submit a waymark for it, others will not be able to "visit" it or log it, since it wouldn't be there should others go there. Watertowers, on the other hand, are stable. Very few of those are going to get up and drive away once their waymark has been established.
  9. I like it. I like it a lot. I have a personal travel bug that I'd love to be able to log at waymarks that I visit. I would pay for a single Tag bug just so I could log waymarks with that special tag.
  10. Picture of the entrance to the campus. When the university or college was founded - general information like that.
  11. I wanted to delete one of my pictures and replace it with a better copy but haven't found the delete picture feature. I'm sure it will show up eventually.
  12. Certain things are showing up under subcategories. For example if you look at the directory, you'll see Places, yet if you explore Places you can't get to the Parks subcategory. I can get to the Parks category by clicking on other links that then are part of the Parks subcategory like the one listed below and work backward to Parks. Directory Home > Places > Parks > NPS Passport Cancellation Stations
  13. I'm in agreement; I think it would be a nice touch to tie the two sites together by linking one's profile from Waymarking.com on a GC.com profile, and vice versa, as suggested by maingray. Thanks for the new game...since no one is hiding new caches in my area, this opens up a whole new realm of possibilities for me. I agree. It would be nice if one profile told both stories; the stats shouldn't be combined, but treated seperatly and displayed side by side (like benchmarks). Actually, since I haven't logged any waymarks yet, I don't know that this doesn't already happen. The site looks nice. I hope it works as well as it looks. It doesn't happen yet. At least it's not showing my waymarks that I've submitted. I haven't logged my own, basically because I'm doing this in reverse order. When I go back to some of my waymarks, I'll then log them. I'm in agreement with the tallys in the user stats. Submitting a waymark could be treated as a "hide" while logging and existing waymark would be treated as a "visit" as Jeremy likes to call them.
  14. You'll get an email. I also get an email when one is submitted. Some categories are even set up to autoapprove and I get an email when one of those is submitted too. Secondly, once people log our waypoints will we get email notification when they do, so we can check it out to make sure they logged it correctly? I believe so. It should be that way anyway. If it doesn't we'll find out pretty quickly. Thirdly, what's the usual time frame from submission of a waymark to approval, or is it sort of up in the air at this point in time? Yes. It is up in the air right now and up to the waymark category owner. We've been considering a way that there can be multiple reviewers just like we do with geocaching.com. Just so you know, unless the emails are backlogged, I haven't received any notifications of approved waymarks for the three that have already been approved.
  15. I've submitted four waymarks to the National Park Cancellation station category. They don't get approved right away which brings up the question, will we be getting emails eventually when they do get approved or are we going to have to come back and check? Secondly, once people log our waypoints will we get email notification when they do, so we can check it out to make sure they logged it correctly? Thirdly, what's the usual time frame from submission of a waymark to approval, or is it sort of up in the air at this point in time?
  16. I can't dredge up a name right now, but I know of a person with a personal bug that logs his bug into every cache he attempts, whether he finds it or not, since, in his opinion, the bug records his daily geocaching experience, not just his successful experiences. He even logged his bug into his own caches since he was going there, from time to time for maintenence, etc. It makes sense. A personal bug is just that, Personal. Each person has their own way of doing what they want to do with individual bugs. My bug is only logged into successful cache finds, and with only one transgression, I'm the only one who logs the bug as well. There was one guy at an event who was pretty insistant on logging my bug into the event cache and I allowed it as long as he promised not to log it into any other cache, since I wanted to keep an accurate record of mileage accumulated on the bug. My next cache found should put A Walk with Webfoot over 6000 miles of successful caching.
  17. How about adding whether the cavern is "bat friendly" or not. Some aren't because of the type of grill work that has been placed over the entrance.
  18. Are you still restricted like you are with locationless caches on logging multiple finds of the same waymark? For example, could you log more than one yellow jeep if you saw one in California, and then one in Arizona, or even in a different city in California? I was just looking at the Natioinal Park Cancelation Station waymark and was wondering if this one could be logged more than once by a person? Could two different people log the same waymark? Two weeks ago, I could have logged this particular one three times, since I was in three distinct locations where there was a cancelation station. Is this up to the manager of the waymark, or is this still in flux? Inquiring minds want to know.
  19. You sent an email to your local reviewer on the 13th? He/she is a volunteer and doesn't sit here 24/7. Give it some time. Based upon your other thread, it looks pretty good right now. Keep going.
  20. Sounds like you just encountered some rude cachers.
