  1. In the forums it stands for Cheers Cache Run vist the OT threads for more info. to add: DONT.LISTEN.TO.THE.PIG. There are no caches in Cheers How do you know?
  2. when you drive your son to school, and work in four finds in between the time you drop him off and pick him up instead of just driving back home. when the town you live in and the two towns on either side don't have any caches in them that you haven't found. when you see new types of Internet puzzles and think to yourself, "Self, how can I make that into a puzzle cache?"
  3. I think you just hit on something there. A smiley for every piece of trash picked up at a CITO. I mean why just log one attended for a CITO when you can log 50, 100 or more attendeds for every piece picked up? Throw in a few dozen pocket caches and you can walk away from a CITO adding a couple hundred finds to your count. This will have the benefit of making CITOs more popular and provice incentive for people to pick up more trash when there. Either that or it might encourage people to go out the night before and spread some more trash around.
  4. Congratulations Lep. The having fun part is the most important part of this hobby. It truly isn't about the numbers. May you have many more years of caching enjoyment with Little Lep and friends you meet upon the trail. I hope that one day, I will be fortunate enough to cache with you.
  5. He lives next door to some guy that thinks he is a prince and just down the street from Kermit. Hey. I think I resemble that remark.
  6. I used to golf. I walked off the course halfway through a round because I wasn't having any fun. It's a lot of mental attitude. Five months later, I was ready to go back, but my wife had quit work to stay home with the daughter and we couldn't afford golf. I still have my clubs, but haven't been on a golf course in almost 17 years. I really don't miss it. Geocaching is less espensive, you can go when it rains, and you don't have to wait around for others to get out of your way. You don't have to haul your equipment around in a huge bag because you can carry everything you need in a small backpack. 17 years ago, I would have probably answered golf. Today? No Contest. Geocaching.
  7. The Leopard Sunglasses. The sunglasses were one of the original trade items inside Las Flores (GCAA38) when it was hidden in November, 2002. After finding them in that cache in January 2005, I decided to take pity on them and liberate them from the cache. I placed them in a cache in March 2005. Sometime between April 2005 and October 2005, that cache disappeared from the face of the earth. Somehow, the sunglasses found themselves in a travel bug hotel in the Simi Valley, where they were picked up yesterday by one of the big cachers in the area. They're now getting ready to celebrate The Lucky Seven Event next Thursday evening. If I wasn't busy that evening with parent conferences, I might drive out there. Sometimes lost travel bugs do show up again.
  8. I teach the hormonally schizophrenic - AKA 7th and 8th grade.
  9. April 21st, 2002 @ 08:12 AM. Not only that, but it was a double post. Go figure.
  10. Depending upon the continent. Maybe yes, maybe no.
  11. Dang. That's good. It even filtered out the smog.
  12. I made a ticket up for travel bugs that I take on vacation. They read: Feel free to PM me with an email address if you'd like the doc file. It has the travel bug on it, so it looks pretty good. I just punch a hole in the ticket, then loop it through the chain that's attached to the bug. Since I'm usually only gone for a week at the moment, it doesn't have to be very sturdy. It's easily torn off after the time has passed. It's worked very successfully in the past, with only one person who was too eager to wait. He, at least, logged it into the cache that I had placed the bug in.
  13. Do you have a campground location, or is this still nebulous?
  14. And it was. Link to log. At least in the spiritual world, he's not very cold, I hope. 28 degrees while he was there and he doesn't look like he's dressed for the occasion.
  15. I've always lived by the mantra, "A good dog, is a tired dog." No way for them to get into trouble when they're asleep.
  16. On my first night caching adventure, my friend and I found this cache. I'm pretty sure the cacher right before us had decided that they wanted to put a large, tarantula sized, plastic spider in the cache. Cache was a guardrail pill bottle, so they attached it with a wire so when you pulled it out, so did the spider. By the light of a flashlight, it's enough for someone to check their underwear after finding it.
  17. Man I guess I should go back and log my cache then. I found my cache 180 feet from where it was supposed to be. I guess one of the previous finders didn't like where I'd placed it originally.
  18. Lep makes a very good point. When I read your log, I thought to myself, "Did you have fun?" I've found 31 in one day, about 6 hours of work, and I was with a caching buddy and I had a great time. I was exhausted at the end and I don't think I'll ever do that many again. 20 is a good caching day for me now. I've found my most enjoyable caching experiences have been when caching with other people, but I also enjoy the solo hunt as well.
  19. Very funny stuff. I invited him to visit my webcam cache. Let's see if the spritual medium can be caught on film.
  20. I found out about it in a Where's George? chatroom talking with Seamus. It's all his fault.

    Help

Well, I'm in California, but it's 232 miles away from me. If I get up that way, I'll check it out. I've figured out the puzzle for the cache already, so the coordinates were an easy fix. Too bad it's not closer.
  22. I logged 25 Locationless caches. My favorites. Observatory Quest - I'd found one near my house on a local college campus, but it had already been logged.l I knew of this one, but never bothered because I figued it had already been logged. Not so. Sundials - One of the things I liked about locationless caches was it made you more aware of your environment. I had been driving by this sundial every week on the way to church. One day I happened to glance over at it and said, "Is that a sundial?" My son rolled his eyes, because he knew it was and he had noticed it long ago. I guess that's what you get for sitting in the passenger seat, a better appreciation for your surroundings. Waymarking does the same thing now making you more aware of your surroundings. US Flag - Biggest flag I've ever seen flying on a staff. This one is at the Oasis Casino in Mesquite, NV. Yellow Jeep Fever - Just because it's cool. Our neighbor owns a yellow Jeep. I refused to log that one. I found this one while out caching. Like I said, locationless caches made me more aware of my environment.
  23. Yep. Link to the cache in question... Yep. That's a DNF I won't be able to rectify.
