I thought I had read somewhere that you can increase the length of the Name displayed on the Waypoint screen beyond 8 characters. Can someone direct me how to accomplish this? Thanks. Perhaps it was through the use of GSAK?

I have the same issue where I cannot get the route to go the way I prefer. I also cannot download a route created in Mapsource (.GPX) to the website. Has anyone been able to successfully manipulate the route in Google Earth or been able to download a .GPX file created in Mapsource? Perhaps the solution is to upgrade to Google Earth Plus. Any thoughts or help?

I believe I have seen a topic about being able to connect a Garmin handheld to a laptop and view your current position on the laptop screen. I seem to remember something about a download needed from the Garmin website, but can not locate anything. Does anyone have any information on how to do this and what is required? If it helps, I have a Garmin Vista HCX with City Navigator 2008 installed. Thanks!

I recently purchased (2) screen protectors from shieldzone, one for a Vista Hcx (ordered the one for the Vista Cx) and one for a palm Zire 71. Both arrived in approximately one week and both fit the units perfectly. I am very pleased with the one on my Vista, but the one on the Zire makes inputting data via the stylus more difficult. The screen protector surface does not allow the stylus to "slide" across the screen as easily as without and you must press considerably harder, especially when writing using the Graffiti feature. Perhaps that is something I must give up to keep the screen in good shape.

Has anyone managed to purchase the full version DVD yet? If so, from where?

I am planning on purchasing a new Garmin GPSMap 60CSx and mapping software. Any advice on where to purchase and get the best service/price? Also any comments on why I should consider a different GPS unit. I use my current one (Magellan Gold) for geocaching and travel and plan to do the same with the new one. Thanks.

I am the owner of a Magellan Meridian Gold and have been very pleased with it. I've been thinking of upgrading to a color screen and have narrowed it down to the Magellan 500 or 600. I am wondering if there is a real advantage in paying the extra cost to get a 600 vs a 500? I would appreciate people's opinions please

I sometimes wonder if the cache owners read the online logs also. I have seen caches that have had several DNF's, and reports of caches being in bad shape or missing, and the owners do nothing. I know it is a responsibility to take care of and maintain a cache, but it is also pretty disappointing to trek out to an area and find the cache gone. I reported one such missing cache to the owner recently, but nothing appears to have been done about it.

This is an excellent solution for the OP. If you feel it is not polite to revisit a cache to remove a TB then just discover it and leave it for the next cacher. I wish more people would do this with geocoins - recently, we have been to new (to us) caches with a coin listed, only to find it has gone 'missing' (i.e. taken unlogged). Ditto Jeep TBs.
