You can see what I did in an earlier post. I haven't had to try this yet, but the attached is what Lowrance tech support sent me on the topic. Despite what they said, I read and write using the Sandisk reader, without using the LEI reader once a card has been registered.

Lee, this thread was extremely helpful and I thank you for starting it. (In fact I joined this site based upon a google search on this topic.) I was having difficulty registering a SD card (PNY 1GB). What finally ended up working was plugging in the LEI 2.0 reader, but also my SANDISK multi-card reader. I could register using the drive referenced in the SANDISK. Now if I could figure out how to apply the firmware patch on my H2O C I could read the Navionics card I just spent $199 on... Waiting for Lowrance tech support to get back to me since I get a "signal error" when loading the update. BTW, I want to use this for fishing trips I take to plot where I've been. Worked great out in the FL gulf last weekend. The content in Mapcreate 6 was accurate for the ICW markers and even wrecks and sandbars. Pretty cool.
