  4. Hey Trailgators, did you ever Google your slogan? There are so many suggestions! My favorite is "Always wear underwear" - very sound advice!
  5. HAPPY BIRTHDAY FATTBOY! HAPPY BIRTHDAY FATTBOY!
  6. Really? Don't you mean 4? I'm pretty sure both of you meant to say 3! No I think you meant to say 2!!! One more! Edit: Oops, I guess I got it! Congratulations, Pat! It's only fitting, as you are one of the most prolific posters! I was not trying to post that one but you clicked at almost the same time as me. So I would like to share the honors with you! OK now what do we get?! You are too kind, Pat! I am so honored to be in such elevated company! Yeah, a prize would be cool!
  7. Congrats, Cat & Bobby. Now that's a nice picture!
  8. Woo Hoo! Yahoo Indeed!! Congrats!!! We love the pic...a picture is worth a thousand words...or 1000 caches in this case r jnj From your photo I'm thinkin' maybe you like to Geocache. Shoot, you can be the poster-child for this recreation. Good for you. Like it? I love it! What's not to like about walking miles and miles to poke around in a bush for a cammoed film cannister? Thanks for all the good wishes - I made a good start today on the next 1000!
  9. Obviously a joyful achievement. Well done. By the way, that 1000-sign would make a nice hat, believe me, I know. Harmon I don't need a hat to look goofy! (Not that there's anything wrong with that.......!) Thanks for the congrats! Linda P.S. Aren't you glad you won't have to look at that picture for a whole 'nother page?

  11. Really? Don't you mean 4? I'm pretty sure both of you meant to say 3! No I think you meant to say 2!!! So who's going to do the honors?
  12. Thanks Tom, for all your help and commitment to our terrific recreation. Lemme see now ... that's $kimmer, Splashette, and TrailGators, map4navigation, and FlagMan so far. Just kidding of course. Congratulations Harmon!!!! I hope to finally meet you at one of the upcoming events. I'll recognize you, for sure!!!
  13. Congratulations, Skillet! Also congrats to kwver for reaching 4700 The Fat Cats for reaching 800 and zeber for reaching 500 (when she eventually logs them all!) All done on a puzzle trip to RSD yesterday. It was a busy day!
  14. Well now! I guess you're not lost all the time are you? Congrats on 900 finds! Thanks for all the good wishes guys! I may not have the big numbers like some of you, but I'm slowly getting there! I'll be starting a push toward the big 1 this weekend when a bunch of us hits Puzzle Valley. Now that's a milestone! Hope to see you all at the events on the 5th or the 8th!
  15. Wow! You don't check out the forums for a few days and look what happens! Congrats to everyone on reaching some awesome milestones! (I may just hit 900 next week - small potatoes, huh?)
  16. After reading your rave review LLOT, I decided to run over and check this one out. It was another Redrox classic! Redrox sure makes urban caching very fun! Anyhow, that cache now appears on three favorites lists so it had been officially added to the San Diego Consensus Favorites List! The Geobabes and I gave this one a rating of three thumbs up. It is a definite classic in my book. geo4christ and I found this one the other day, and I have to say it goes on my all-time favorite list. What a very clever and devious hide! We found another Redrox one the same day which was also a lot of fun - now I want to go find the rest of her caches. I really enjoy caches where the hider put so much thought and effort into the cammo. Sorry - after a few hundred micros in a bush, I'm ready for something more!
  17. Nice Job Simpson Clan. Members of the 4 digit club~!! Well done, Simpson Clan! Congratulations also to The Polar Bear who passed the 1,500 mark!
  18. First, I tend to treat my logs like the caches I find. If it is an LPC, or something else that is totally uninspired, then my log will be uninspired also. However, if you put effort into the cache, I will put effort into my log as well. On a second note, I have to admit that I found your post really funny. When he is in town...you cache with the cut and paste king! I'm not sure who brought up the cut and paste thing. I'd rather get 100 cut and paste logs than one TNLNSL log. At least in the C&P logs they had something nice to say. For every cache I find I will have at least one unique sentence (no matter how uninspiring the cache is). The hider went to enough trouble to shove an altoids tin under a lamp post, I think they deserve that much. 'Nuff said! D! Well, I am definitely guilty of cutting and pasting, at least for the initial part of my log. I usually say who was with me, which not only helps me keep track of things, but also helps some of my caching friends who log late (cough....zeber!) to remember when they found the cache. I try to add a unique comment to each log on top of that. Sometimes it's quite short. Sometimes it's a paragraph if the cache was memorable in some way. Sometimes it's not related to the actual cache - just a story about what happened on the way to or from it. I often end with TFTC! or Thanks! but that's just because I mean it. What really annoys me is when you're out on the trail and can't find a cache, so you look at the last five logs and they pretty much all say nothing . TLC
  19. Wow, that's great! Since I'm in Encinitas, I will look for it! How did you come up with 12:30? Well...it's a guesstimate. Landing is at 12:49 and so I figure that by being outdoors about 20 minutes prior to touchdown you guarantee yourself the opportunity of seeing/hearing it. It probably will be a little after 12:30 when it goes overhead, but get out a little early just to be sure. The shuttle won't go sub-sonic until about 5 minutes before touchdown somewhere over Palmdale. RocketMan would probably be able to give you an exact time and location when it crosses the coast. I'm just going on the fact that it'll be going maybe Mach 2 and be about 10-15 minutes from touchdown when it hits the coast. It is currently 45 minutes from landing, and about 12 minutes before it enters the atmosphere (~ 80 miles in altitude) --TT-- Here's a live map: http://www.n2yo.com/ Couldn't spot it with my nekkid eyes, but heard the sonic booms! We heard the booms in Poway also! It was nice to know what they were!
  20. Thanks for the congrats...but..Mrs. kwver insisted that we continue our quest for 4000! She is such a trooper! We had a blast going for 4000! Now it's time to relax and heal abit from our wounds..bruises, ticks spider bites, scratches, broken bones....but it was so much fun! Relax? I don't believe they will for a second! At the rate they're going they should hit 5000 in about 3 months! I can't wait to see who they take on next! Seriously, though, great work guys, and kudos to jahoadi and john for their huge numbers also!
  21. Hey SKILLET - I think we should all take a leaf out of your book and make our own ones for future events! Or maybe someone could design one that we could print out and add our caching names to? P.S. Sorry zeber and I didn't make it to brunch - we got busy chatting to other cachers, and by the time we were ready to leave we figured you guys would be finished. Next time!
  22. I just discovered this thread, and see a lot of familiar San Diego names that I couldn't figure out before. The show LOST is also responsible for getting me into geocaching. There was an online game in season 2 of the show which at one point had a link to a picture that included a Travel Bug on it. Someone in the LOST forums explained what it was, I did some research, and as soon as I found out about geocaching I was hooked. So the Lost part of my name is a nod to the show, as well as a situation I often fnd myself in. The Clan part is because I am Scottish (although I've lived in the US for over 20 years now), and I mistakenly thought my husband and sons would enjoy caching also. Sometimes a part of the Clan can be coerced to come along, but mostly it's just me.
  23. Say... you got a few hints!?!?!? Hey, that's a great idea! How about it, FlagMan?? Congratulations! Congrats to all the other milestoners, and also to kwver and jahoadi and john, who blew past 3800 when no one was looking.
  24. Congratulations to cawicks who went over 200 on our trip to Oceanside yesterday!
  25. I just wanted to say what a great time I had with the SDCET this weekend. This was my first CITO and campout (although I couldn't spend the night), and I really enjoyed it. Many thanks to SKILLET for the hospitality, the food, and the tour, and also to Team Adelos and Chuy for the rides. You guys really made me feel welcome, and it was great to meet some more cachers from SD and some from out of state too. I hope to see you all again soon!
