  1. Dude, Just trying to help out. Chill. You didn't specify what you were using them for. Sorry I even tried to help you out.
  2. Don't pay too much to if there are instructions or not. If you get a Palm PDA you can always go to www.palmone.com and they should have a downloadable version. PDF rules. Not to mention that they are easy to figure out.
  3. I would say just to drop the regular eTreX from the list and keep the eTreX Legend. The Rino is cool. As for the others I don't know much about them. I know some that don't care much for the eTreX series, but I have been using the same Legend for 4 years and have not had any problems. I recently purchased a Legend C off these forums and have been pleased with it. My only thing that I require in a GPS is that it has mapping. I would never give one without that feature or use one for teaching geocaching without it. Just my 2 bits.
  4. My tired old eyes don't like the black on grey background. I got a new Palm Z22 that is black on white. I thought that the Z22s were color.
  5. What would you be willing to take for all three together?
  6. You will have to do a little better than that. I have seen them online for new at that price.
  7. As long as you can get the money for it to me fast enough there is no problem.
  8. Next time tell me and I would bid on it for you.
  9. Where are you seeing them for that price? I find them in the $100s USD. and where are you getting them for that price? I would gladly pay 100 bucks plus shipping fo legend c's. As I said "in the 100s", take note of the "s" at the end. Normally around $150 plus s/h, and that is used. Ebay is where I see these.
  10. Where are you seeing them for that price? I find them in the $100s USD.
  11. This is the correct link for Magellan http://www.magellangps.com/
  12. You're right about that shipping overcharge. They try that even within the 48 states. When I see a high shipping rate I just scroll right past their listing. I want to see real shipping cost with a few extra dollars tacked on for shipping for a package like that. I saw $10 to ship a geocoin once. If I ran ebay you would not see that crap. I would just start closing all those accounts down.
  13. RUSTY, RUSTY, he's our man. If he doesn't get the staff, Trippy1976 can. Here is a thanks to all the reviewers that approve caches for us each and evey day. Will be waiting to hear how this turns out.
  14. You are a forum Newb. The thread will just roll off if you stop posting to it. Now look at what you made me do.
  15. Reading their whole FAQ section would be faster than us trying to answer all your questions. If you can post here and wait for a reply you have the time it takes to read their FAQ section.
  16. I agree, you only need the topo. The other is really for fishing I believe. I got the topo w/the combo pack and it still show creeks and all. There are many copies on the E site.
  17. Just want everyone to know that I was the one that purchased this GPSr and was very happy with the transaction. kreegan responded to all my emails promptly and was nice enough to hold the unit untill I received my next check. I know not all sellers are willing to do something like that. If this was an ebay auction he would have another star next to his name. If I'm in the position to buy another GPSr and he has one available I would be right there buying it from him. Thanks for the GPSr kreegan, I was able to use the auto routing yesturday on my way to an event 150 miles away and it really helpped. Maldar
  18. OK. I know that this is a hard one for people. I'm looking for one that is working or not. What I'm wanting to do is to try to moddify the unit and want to check out the componets to see if it is possible to do what I plan. I may be will to pay a small amount and as alwalys shipping. Will consider other models. Please PM or email me via my profile.
  19. Dude, I totally agree with you. List it here first. If no one offers to buy or you are offered too little then list it on ebay and post a link. Don't list it on ebay 1st and then post a link here.
  20. You'll really hate the fact that a month and a half ago Office Max had a 3pk of 1gb SD cards for $60. Really worked out for me as I have 3 PDAs that I purchased them for. Man, that is alot of memory. Going to load some mp3s in for when I'm on the trail. Maldar
  21. My biggest question is this: Does moving the TB help it on its way? If it has a specific goal and you are going that way then fine. If it has just the general goal of moving around, let others find the TB. The rules I play by are as follows: 1) I only go after caches that I have not found. There are a few people I have seen log revisits as finds. If one of my caches goes missing I don't archive it just to rehide it in the same spot. That seems to me like inflating my number count. If it is in the same place it is the same cache. 2) I don't return to caches to log a TB or coin I have not found. See rule #1. 3) I don't "Discover" coins. I was at an event and there was a cacher that had activated coins in his collection that he allowed people to "Discover". Why would I want to discover your personal collection? I like the hunt, not be given things on a platter. I'll get icons the old fashion way, work for them. 4) If the owner of a TB or coin contacts me to move the item for them because I have already been to the cache, logged the item, or own the cache; then I will for go rule 1 & 2 and move the items along. These are my rules that I follow, you can do what you want, but don't expect me to like it. I have been thinking of making a TB/Geocoin maintenance cache as these items go through much in the course of their travels. To do this I was going to make an account separate from my own so I could remove the items from the cache while I clean them up give them new print-outs and bags as need, and people would know better what is in the cache. I don't want to artifically inflate my numbers just because I can. Again, just how I play the game and like I said earlier, you can do what you want just don't expect me to approve.
  22. What cassiopea do you have? I have the EM-500 and only isilo and spinner will support it. I tried sonar and the EM-500 is too old for it.
  23. Set-up a paypal account that we could donate to. I have no problem giving you a few bucks and I'm sure that others here would to the same. You could also place a geocache out there cachers could donate at. I had a film development fund in one of my camera caches when I was attending college. Many cachers will drop in a quarter to a dollar to help out. Contact me or post here once/if you set up a Paypal donate button. Maldar
  24. quote:Originally posted by Jeremy:You must not be a programmer. Inefficient programming is the major contributor to slowdowns on web servers online. The geocaching.com web site was created as a hobby 3 years ago with the intent that it would be used by a small group. Since we're now at 14 million pageviews per month you can understand the need to create more efficient programming to deal with the increased server load. Inefficient programming is do to bad coding. In this case you only minimized the amount of code. I only know HTML currently, but am taking classes in VB which will lead to more languages. As for my monetary involvement in Geocaching.com: You only mention one item and I know I have purchased more than that. It's most likely more than any other college student has contributed to gc.c. Not to mention that is a cheap shot from someone that does not like to be proven wrong and censors what others have to say by locking out post only a few minutes after they start. It's a good thing that GC.c has no stockholder as they would have removed you long ago. Maldar
  25. quote: "I liked it the way before" is pedantic, at best. Keep the comments constructive. Obviously your (constructive) input will ultimately improve the search tools. Jeremy Irish Groundspeak - The Language of Location But ignoring this "pedantic" comment shows that you don't care that a larger percentage of your users are disappointed with the new layout. Sometimes it's easier to add new features to a proven product that to introduce a new product and lose your customer base to competitors. Maldar
