  1. Me neither just have to check every so often. Hardly rocket science to get this right I would have thought.
  2. Don't care about anything at the bottom, however the Hello at the top is particularly irritating since the interesting content is even further down the page. Hence you see even less of it without scrolling. Yet another unasked for change. Please can you revert back to the previous format and also get rid of the remaining empty lines while you are on the case.
  3. When I am a Premium member and paying my way I actually expect to see no adverts at all. Something changed overnight and this is beyond a joke.
  4. I was appalled to find an audio ad on a cache page today supplied by the powers that be. This ruins whatever else I am listening to or even work phone calls. I also get a video right in my face. Please stop this immediately since this is the absolute pits. I thought the web pages couldn't sink any lower, how wrong was I.
  5. I am sorry but the extra white spacing just makes the page a horrible experience for me. There seems no need for it, I could easily see more than twice as many logs with a change to the layout. Moreover at the top of the page I have to scroll just to get past the picture. Possibly the picture could be move up and save all the white space lines next to it? May I ask whether PC user experiences are considered much nowadays because it seems not to me. Secondly rather than the layout changes how about a "Don't show visited" option? Update - Apologies in advance if this post does not relate to the changes, I lose track of what changed when!
  6. No to both of the questions. I logged the day after in one hit. However, it was using GSAK and the api so maybe that caused some oddities. I have now followed the recommended edit log approach and find myself with 10 points (2 finds) instead of 7 (1 with FPs). No matter I am sure I can find a few more before the week is out to be sure .
  7. I found an EC with 32 FPs on July 24th, logged as found on 25th, and my score is zero for the current week. Is this correct?
  8. Possibly the browsers are behaving differently just to make life even more confusing. I am using Chrome in Windows 8.1.
  9. That is because they need to be escaped in the link e.g. https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=Windstorm%2b
  10. I care not about how many Souvenirs I have and to me this feature is most unwelcome.
  11. This statement is concerning. How is there any difference in code/functionality for the same component/function used in different areas? We've been told the main driver for all this change is correcting years of coding changes that slowed development and was error prone due to complexity and redundancy. The same enhancements and defects must still be addressed in multiple places. Exactly so we get rid of nice old features and add new features of debatable value. In the process we write shed loads of new code that doesn't work fully and isn't modular. Yeah!
  12. Hm, yes, a good use for this feature, actually. Any plan (or way) to expose it through the API though? I would say that this only applies if they don't speak to each other. I suggest looking at the friends finds would accomplish the same end and simpler than a shed load of notifications. It speaks volumes when people scrabble around looking for ways a feature can be used. That most definitely implies there was no good use case in the first place.
  13. Yep, the two DNF's would not normally result in reviewer action. But, when you add in the above facts, I would have done the same thing if the "Needs Archived" was logged on an identical cache in my territory. Really, one DNF and a mistaken NA becuase they could not find it from someone with a whole 13 finds. Wow! The CO isn't maintaining it or responding to reviewer communication. Let it go. Fair enough, I hadn't done enough research.

  15. Letterbox would fit well with this style of cache.
  16. I concur with much of what you say apart from the part about showing that you care contributed to the final axe. That would be very sad and a poor reflection on how the site is run. I do worry about what will be tidied up next.
  17. Ok. For the first part, I misunderstood what you meant by "fallacious to argue that nothing should have changed". I agree there is no argument that Groundspeak has the right to do as they please. I argue they could have made a different decision (to leave YOSM and Brass Cap), which would cost them nothing in development or support cost, and keep (a minority) of cachers happy. For the second point; Groundspeak will never admit that, but as I said before I think that it is likely that all the well intentioned community response to the initial logging changes and YOSM was what killed it in the end. To say in writing it will stay and then remove it is just the pits no matter what the reason. They should be in government.
  18. Incorrect. Two entirely different cache types. Absolutely tempted to say words that would get me banned for sure. Just makes me so sad the lack of understanding from those that have power and take consistently wrong decisions.
  19. Unworkable? they seem to have worked pretty well for 15 years. 2 caches out of 3,000,000+ ! I think you need to keep a sense of proportion. Exactly. So from now on, changes to the logging process and the coordinate update process can be made by Geocaching HQ without having to make programmatic exceptions for two caches out of 3,000,000. Glad someone's happy, maybe the release quality will now show a magical improvement.
  20. My guess is that so many people complained, that they got fed up with it. The reasons listed in the help center article makes perfect sense. I think it's a good thing that Groundspeak doesn't waste developer time supporting less than 0.003% of the world's active caches. Hmmmmmm let me think, the latest development is the waster of time not the happy caches that have been working fine as long as I can remember. And changing a communicated decision without even saying sorry is just beyond the pale. Restore our caches as promised please. I am so tempted just to give up because I would think that more diversity will go in the near future. What's next on the get rid of pile multis (not enough people do them), wherigos(even less so who cares), need I say more.
  21. You Groundspeak folks really know how to upset people. This was not mentioned at all to the best of my knowledge and in fact confirmed they would remain in writing. Your credibility has just vanished completely. Zero respect for the person who did this. Why do you hate us so? Aaaagggggggggh.
  22. My icon also looks abysmal you can't use the same icon in multiple places with different formats. Please, please remove friends logs from my screen I have no wish to stalk anyone.
  23. Not nice, this shows my e-mail address to everyone! Please remove this function. Account Settings/ email address allows you to hide the real address so that communication is via GS. Maybe you have it checked to show? Still seems to work for me.
  24. All phone orientated again, there seems to be no product owner who uses a PC. The white space is overwhelming, I wish to see the maximum useful data without any scrolling or extra clicks and the changes seem to be the opposite.
