  1. I take it back, it appears to be giving distances from the center of the United States (i.e., Kansas somewhere). This is even more useless than I thought.
  2. onepooja, On Friday, February 11, you listed this bug: >Figuring out how to show the distance to a cache (from user location) when a user has filtered by a region (should show distance from them, not distance from the middle of the region) This has not been fixed, and no longer appears on the list of bugs that the engineering team is working on. When I search for caches in the State of Washington, it shows distance from some arbitrary point (possibly the center of the state), which is not useful. I want to be able to see the ones near me, not the ones near Vantage (or wherever the center of Washington is).
  3. To clarify, I see that the Region choice is now combined with the Starting Location, but that reduces the functionality of Search. I used to be able, for example, to search for all Earthcaches in Washington State within 75 miles of Bellingham, but this is no longer possible. Either I specify Washington State, and get all the Earthcaches in the state, sorted by proximity to my house, or I choose Bellingham and get a bunch of caches across the border in British Columbia. The two location choices need to be separated to maintain the old functionality.
  4. The old functionality that allowed you to only include results in a certain geographic entity (e.g., the US State of Oregon, or the country of Belgium) no longer appears in the filters. In addition, if I choose my home location, a distance, and a few other filters, invariably it drops the location and distance and gives me results in the entire world.
  5. Top of Zig found 3/22/19 I was awarded this souvenir by mistake in 2020, so yes, it has one. Seems that something goofy is up with this geotour's souvenirs. Thanks, gearguru!
  6. As of yesterday, there are 32 caches in this geotour. https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/olympic-peninsula I have found them all. Yet I have not been awarded a souvenir. What's up with that?
  7. A Northwest Forest Pass is required to park at the trailhead. They are $5 for day passes, and available in many local shops or online. Note for those coming from other parts of the country: you can also use an Interagency Annual Pass if you already have one (e.g., an 'America the Beautiful' pass, which gets you into all US National Parks). Also note: whatever pass/permit you use for this hike is for the US National Forest Service, and you will need a different pass (the Discover Pass) to park at the APE event, which is in a Washington State Park.
  8. I'll be up at Burlington, WA, this Saturday (April 27, 2013), as I have a kid playing at the Spring Reign youth ultimate tournament (http://www.discnw.org/events/SpringReign.html) at Skagit River Park. If anyone wants to meet up and do a little caching (between, roughly, 10am-4pm), talk to me. I'll have my bike (also a car, but I'll be using my bike), and won't want to go too far from the fields, but you don't need a bike --- my plan is to visit places that have a number of nearby caches: downtown Burlington, the large number of caches to the west by the airport, and/or out by Bayview Park. I presume with the density of caches in these areas, someone on foot will be about as fast as someone on bike. Downtown Mt. Vernon is also close, but given the Tulip Festival is going on, I'd prefer to avoid it. You can reply here, or contact me via my profile page.
  9. Just FYI - The Snoqualmie Tunnel is closed until May (it's always closed November to May because nasty icicles form on the ceiling), so access to caches on the west side of the tunnel is, while not impossible, difficult.
