  1. And yours is a????? Nice to have another quad rider on ere
  2. Well Biker Peeps. Just to let you know I did get my toy, and was out caching over New Year. Once it's run in I can give it a wee tweek My New Toy. Also gives the thread a bump.
  3. Wot are you refering to Mr Wolfshead!! And Clennell Street was like Oxford street on a saturday afternoon. And I got stopped by a group who asked where they were.. mind boggles. Back to the plot!! Go for the cache, I don't rock climb or canoe bit of a problem with my over enthusiastic cuddle factor. But there is always some some out there to do them. Just make sure you spell it out in very plain english. And good luck Moss T
  4. I wish they would class quads as bikes, save on the 'PLG' road tax. Or make a class in there own right. I will be back on me rusty steed when I get my new toy next month. Hopefully one of These Loverly
  5. Are we all loosing the plot here.. paking co-ords!!! The whole game/sport/hobby is to find something hidden. Part of that is the getting to it. Why give parking co-ords.. I have been on wrong side of walls, rivers, fences.. housing estates.. with the Oh! Bu**er comment. All part off the game. Gettin to be that folks want to be spoon fed every thing so the game is easier. Shame when part of the whole thing is supposed to get yer out of your cars an get some exercise Quads are different Moss T
  6. 3 Actually, Two in St Andrews, Fife and the First in Scotland. Round trip of about 500 miles to get all three but as I said in my origional post I had problems. Car goes better with intact cylinder head gasket
  7. My top tip.. Change GPS from the compass arrow to the map and zoom in.. it is usually more acurate than the ickle arrow. Found many a cache this way.. while arrow is still making up its mind!!!!! Moss T
  8. When I started cacheing.. if you got within 30ft (10mtrs) or theres abouts, you started to hunt. I have read logs where folks have complained that the co-ords are 6ft out!!! One of the best logs I can remember was on the lines of " OK.. 30ft time to get dirty". Remeber GPSr is relying on miniscule time delays so to me its all down to different days, weather conditions etc. As for picking your own route. To me part of the fun is finding places to park, finding the route.. realising you just wallked 2 miles to find it on the other side of a stream (Time to get wet). So.. my gripe is cachers who want to be lead by the hand so to speak to the exact spot, then complain cos it's damp, in a gourse bush an there are 5 cows in the field.
  9. Sorry bonny lass but I don't agree.. Since I sorted out my cache it has been found 8 times.. the comment from finder no 6 is "Walked to the cache and found that surprising easily - due to the high level of camouflage used!!!NOT! ". Prior to that no 1 had 1869 finds .. No 2 had 204 finds.. No 3 had 44 finds and No 5 had 83 finds. I could accept if they were all newbies but they aint.. and it isnt until No 6 finds it that I know it isnt hidden as it was. Now I dont know who left it partially hidden but there is really no reason for this. If I, as a cache setter, hides a cache then it should be common curtisy to replace it as it was found.. whether in a cache run or not. Moss T
  10. I broached a similar issue Here, although it was not about running for records. This was because one of my caches had been muggled and if it had been replace properly it would have been fine. The annoying bit now is that after sorting it out it took 4 finds before it was basically out in the open again.. not good. I do think that those on record runs tend to leave the cache without the propper attention required. Also I can honestly say I have always left a cache as I found it, or, if it looked like it hadn't been rehidden properly I do the honours.
  11. GPS measures distance over ground, it doesn't take into account the height. Moss T
  12. I believe I did post in another forum, where it was POLITELY pointed out that perhaps I should post in the correct forum, which I did. As you can see I have very few posts on here and didn't think to do a search for similar threads, point noted. That said, I felt the reply was a bit curt, which got my back up. Sometimes a few extra words (or a smiley) can make all the difference in the tone of the message. Thanks. Jim. As Volunteers sometimes we have to juggle our time to fit in reviewing caches, answering emails and moderating the forum. Which can result in us being extremely pushed at times, so a possible reason for the curt reply. Another possible reason in Lactodorum's case he might have just discovered that he'd run out of his supply of Red Wine And I'm not a Man U fan either nor Man City, even though the old homestead was a short walk from Main Rd And don't forget folks we're so open, that you can attend It's Pay Back Time Folks and meet all 3 of us in person. An what have we here.. a blatant disregard for the rules, advertising yer own cache on the forum, well I ask yer. Where will it all end.. the place going to rack an ruin. On about ruin.. I might just ruin yer meet
  13. Dear Mr Moderator.. Coud you please close this thread before I say something I really regret Moss T
  14. Eeeh wot are our reviewers like.. I used to do it without the cover.. hence the reason I nicked off That blew me cover
  15. I can't see why they thread was locked because there was an "active" thread on the same subject. I would hardly define a thread that dropped off page one about four months ago active. Glancing down my first page, I can see maybe half a dozen topics which have been recently discussed without being locked. Dear Mr R Well if you had taken note you would have known that this 'Cacher' had posted the exact same question previously. And has as yet to find a cache.. I think you should do a wee bit of research before you sound of an make a fool out of yerself.. Moss T
  16. My card is a SanDisk 1.0 gb microSD, it came with an adaptor (SD type). I bought it from Telephone Warehouse for about 25 quid last year, they were having a sale. It was cheap at the time It works fine, I have had no trouble with it what so ever. Moss T
  17. Sorry bonny lass.. was there weeks ago.. without GPS.. think you can guess why.. Hope you have a good time..
  18. Nice fish an chips in Amble. Hope theres a cache at abbey.. just for Mandy to do.. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO all them steps hee hee hee Kippers at 10 paces pet.. Hope it's burried too hee hee hee Moss
  19. Totally agree. Mandy was teasing one of her local cachers (and very good friend) did you notice the 8 smilies. M Is OK folks, I have found a very smelly kipper and when I next see Mandy I will slap her daft with said kipper. We actually have regular discussions on this very point.. A discussion with Mandy on this is she talks and I listen. It goes something like "Moss! flower! when I want your views on this I will give you them"
  20. <grip mode> Why can't folks put caches back where they were found!! My Angels View cache had been muggled but thanks to another cacher it was put back together and rehidden, all be it in a different place, for which they sent the co-ords. I will appologise to the two who didnt find it prior to me sorting it out, this was due to my work commitments. I know that if it had been re hidden where it was found it would not have been muggled. Once I went to carry out some maintenance and spent 15 minutes looking for it myself. I found it when I stood on it, luckily I had a spare container. Rehideing it in the correct location also maintains the clue, so please please PLEASE re hide it properly. Thanks for your time and no doubt some one will point us to a thread where this has already been addressed. </grip mode> Doffs cap, bows low and backs out of door so he can see it coming
  21. Well Hellooooooooo bonny lad.. I 'm still ere an even with yer 2 year break yer still found more than twice as many as moi!!
  22. A GPS will get you within a 100m of the cache!!! My old Garmin 12 was that accurate pre SA. Post SA it was down to 10m on a good day.
