  1. Thanks for the info! I have never heard of Stargates....how cool! How do I find the UK forums? I will look around a bit on this site, I don't usually post to forums so I'm a bit out of the loop. Thank you again,
  2. Hi everyone- We are going to launch a TB soon and we would like it to start in England. We live on the Oregon Coast and would like anyone who might be going to England to take our Bug along if they are so willing. We also don't have a problem with sending our bug through the mail ( I know some consider this taboo) to a cacher who lives in England to get this guy started. If anyone reading this post can help please contact us. Thanks!
  3. Colley Wobble was picked up in December 2003 so he has been gone for a long time. I guess I don't understand why someone would log it in the cache logbook and not on the web site, they didn't log their find at all on the geocaching page either. They may have put it in an out of the way cache or it's just been forgotten. Unfortunately he has a Harry Potter theme and is actually an owl from the Harry Potter movies so he may have been taken. I may just send out the copy tag and take my chances. He is a cool bug with a cool goal and I have been told the cool bugs can go MIA.
  4. I posted the note and got results right away, unfortunately whoever took the bug doesn't use the geocaching web site to post their finds ( at least it appears that way) and there was no nickname, I guess they used their first names in the logbook so I have no idea how to get ahold of them. I'll wait a while longer. Another question, can I "grab" the bug, use the duplicate dog tag attached to another owl and just keep it going?
  5. Thanks for the reply. I have heard the cooler the bug the more chance there is for it to go MIA, I hope this isn't the case. I guess whoever took it did post it in the logbook inthe cache, but never on the geocaching web site, so maybe there is hope
  6. Is it uncool to leave a note on the Cache log page where my TB was last seen asking future finders to send me the name of the person who took my bug? I have contacted the owners of the cache, but I never heard back from them. Our bug, Colley Wobble was taken in December and still hasn't been logged. He's a pretty cool bug and we would like to see him continue on his quest. Thanks!
  7. Is it uncool to have a TB visit the graveyard to pay his respects until whoever grabbed him logs the find? We know where ours is, but the people who have him haven't logged it in. We've already emailed them about it. "Don't dream it....be it."
  8. have you found any differences between the quality of items left in themed caches compared to regular ones? We have a themed cache and have actually had very litte trash put in it. Of course it has only been out for a little over a month, but has had many visitors as its a letterbox hybrid. We want to put more out, but are unsure if we should stick with a theme or just do a regular one and see how it goes. We always trade up, in fact we were at an almost empty cache the other day and we ended up filling it up a bit as there was quite a bit of trash in it (empty battery boxes etc.). We also have come up with a "trademark" item that we hope people will enjoy, they are handpainted pewter figures of hobbit type characters and I think those alone are definately an up trade! 10. Well, here is another question then. We picked up a bug a few days back and had high hopes of dropping it off at a new cache however, circumstances have prevented us from doing so. Is it ok to drop the bug off at a cache we have already visited? We really want to put this guy back into circulation.

  12. Thanks for the reply. We have actually found 3 caches and a travel bug and plan to go out again in the next few days. We just want to get stuff togetherfor when we are ready to hide one, thanks for the thread and the advice!

  14. My wife and I just got started on this sport and are really excited to jump into it. We'd love to hide a cache and have seen a few postings that offer "First Finder Certificates". Are these something we should put into the cache? And do we make them ourselves or is there a particular certificate we should use.

  18. Thanks for the reply, what I wanted to do is send something off with a logbook attached and see how far and to how many people it got. If I ever got the HH back it would be a blast to see what people wrote in the logbook! I looked at your Scooby & Shaggy HH, (very cool by the way) they sure travel quickly!

  20. Hello, My husband and I are brand new at this (started on Father's Day after he received a GPS as a gift). We of course can't get enough of it now! My question is this, are travel bugs and Where's George dollars the only form of hitchhiker, or can you make anything a HH? Thanks!
