  1. I LOVE a well planned and thought out cache! My kids think it is great! My favorite and most memorable caches are those that were both well planned and stocked. I love the hunt, but I am also a sucker for cool goodies! I usually spend every bit of $50 to $60 on my themed caches. That is just to start them. I have a couple that I keep stocked. One is called Tundra Treasures and I order stuff from my home town of Alaska when it runs low on cool goodies. On the other hand, I would NEVER say squat about the choices of trading trinkets left in a cache. At least nothing negative, compliments are always appreciated by the cacher that took the time and effort to place it for the rest of us to find! Take the time to say something nice, WRITE a GOOD LOG NOTE and give credit to the guy that got you off your hiney and out on the trail in the first place! SHEESH! Ignore those with ZERO CAHE COUTH! Kepp on doing what your doing! The rest of us cachers will love it! :-)
  2. Okay dude! Really now! Let's just all get along, go have a beer and get over it! These approvers are VOLUNTEERS!!!! HAWK ... you are the reason that I am involved in GEOCACHING!!! You sent me numerous emails of explaination and help, not to mention a software mapping program to get me started. CLICHE CLICHE ... but ... he who angers you, controls you! Are you going to let some phantom user name approver control your life. Because let me tell you, Geocaching is a huge part of my life and has been ... thanks to you. That is craziness to pull your other caches. Who gives a rats hairy @$$ what one person thinks? There is surely more to this for you to take such drastic measures. Come on now!!!!! I will by you the beer!!!! I have really enjoyed your caches! Blow it off! Can I sign up for one of those first 40??? MissAngele ~To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world!~
  3. Hey all ... I got an email from Rosie the Riveting! She is doing great. Many of them are getting sick from a lack of sleep and many minor injuries. She is located near Mosul now setting up aide and teaching the Iraquis about dimocracy and government thaty has freedom of speach. They are still in need of basic suplies like wipies, chapstick and good old snacks if anyone is interested in sending out a parcel! Email me at AngeleCarlson@aol.com for mailing info if you want to contribute. MissAngele
  4. Rosie has some great photos that have been published by the AP and Reuters. One won FOX photo of the week and another we saw on CNN and published in our local Winston-Salem Journal. Too awesome! You go girl! Kick bootie and get yourself back home safe! MissAngele
  5. Too COOL!!! I have collected several of these beauties in HOneychile's caches here locally! They are too cool! She makes them for individual caches too! My favorite one was the latest fairy tale cache button I nabbed out of her last cache she placed! My order is going in!!!! CONGRATS!!!! MissAngele
  6. WOW! Just got my new hiking staff from EL Diablo! SUPER JOB!!! I will take a picture of it with my Geocaching.com camera and post it soon! There is obviously massive amounts of time and relentless efforts put into this staff! As cool as other staffs are, You will not find another one like this in any catelog. I won't feel so cautious about caching by myself! This thing looks very sturdy! The handle grip on it is outstanding! Very nice design! It was painted with some added features like my "halo" around my name. I am quite impressed and greatfully appreciative! And YES I PAID FOR MINE!!!!! This would really be a super Christmas gift if it's not too late to order. And speaking of Dollar store items, I will have to say for you guys who generalize about cache quality, come visit some of mine! Not all of it came from the dollar store. I spend quite a bit on my cache container and contents. There is always superior quality items in an awesome container that will sustain weather issues. And when we find caches, we always make a practice of exchanging an item of higher quality than what we took out. It is only curtious! Hey, you should make keychain sizes of these to use for cache prizes or travel bug hitchhikers! FABULOUS JOB ON MY STAFF! CAN'T WAIT TO BREAK IT IN! MissAngele
  7. Just out of curiousity...given the cost of personalization and some sort of border or logo "pre-printed" and the detailed packaging, what would be a fair, yet profitable to Geocaching.com, price? Keep in mind that most of the time you order multiple items on the Geo Gear page, so shipping will not alter that much. Just wondering. The point of this poll is to get some constuctive feedback, not to make nasty comments. It is great to have varied opinions. This site is growing by leaps and bounds. Every bit of financial gain helps it continue. We all look on here several times a week and many of us have incorporated this sport into a regular thing in our lives. I don't think anyone is getting rich off of a FREE TO USE site. I personally wish the guys were! What a great idea! Obviously we all think so. Merchandise is typically a large part of the financial back bone of anyone from a baseball field to a rock star! Geocaching.com is no different. I personally hope to see it around for MANY YEARS TO COME! With or without new merchandise ideas. MissAngele
  8. These are quite cool sticks. My son owns one of El Diablo's sticks and loves it. He is in Cub Scouts and his staff is the envy of the pack! To each his own ... Obviously I am of the opinion that we all log onto this site sometimes daily. It has become part of some of our lives. No admin person requires a dime from you. There are over 75,000 active users. Not nearly that many that paid the tiny $30 premium fee. Running this site is NOT FREE. I am personally greatful for the time and efforts of people like Jeremy and Bryan. If I can support the effort of continuing this cool game by buying merchandise here and there, I will try. Things like hiking sticks and cameras are things my family use on each cache hunt. I wish El Diablo the best! Given the time put into making them, I don't think he will be retiring next month off of the proceeds! MissAngele
  9. Oh...another thing! The cameras totally supports recycling. They are made by a company that uses recycled materials and high quality film. The vast part of the proceeds support Geocaching.com. I think it would be a great product that advertises and supports the site, adds a cool touch to the pictures that are taken at the caches already and they are environmentally friendly too! How cool is that! MissAngele
  10. Of course, I am a bit bias... but these are really cool! I have used two personally and think they are awesome. Just something fun. They are kind of like personalized checks. Not necessary, but a lot of fun! We just had a Geocaching birthday party for my 10 year old and the photos were a big hit! They were like little postcard souvenirs for the kids. They would make very cool cameras to leave in a cache when it is first placed. MissAngele
  11. Sounds cool to me! Let me know what to do! I will try to recruit some participants! MissAngele

  13. Hey Everyone! I am new to the forum thing. I am not very computer savvy and requested help from a fellow cacher to assist me in this poll. I am the owner of the Faithful Facts Find that has been the topic of discussion. I assure you that there is NOTHING in the cache of a commercial nature or a go to this church plea! To the contrary, there are tools, Budweiser racing stickers, kids books, combo locks and all the normal stuff that we leave in caches. Everything is new and mostly from the Dollar Tree or Walmart (God forbid, I am not trying to give them a plug). The physical cache is an ammo can. The only reference to religion at the cache site is perhaps the name of the cache written with stickers on the side of the ammo can. My only purpose was to make it a more challenging cache rather than to just post some coordinates and say "go get it". I took all the trivia from a childrens Bible that I FOUND in another very cool cache! I may have left a children story book in it that might have been a bible story. I really can't remember. However, it would have been found at the Dollar Tree, too. I previously placed a Sports Trivia cache that got a great response and still does. I had to get loads of help with the trivia. I am NOT a sports person. It was just to make it more fun. I have very little free time outside of home and work. This was my attempt at allowing some of the "hunt" to be done before you have to hit the trails. On another note, being a Christian, I DO NOT appologize for this line of trivia. Just as I am a big fan of NASCAR and would not be sorry for listing trivia about that! (What a comparison!) I am sooooo appreciative of everyone that was willing to voice their support for this. It had nothing to do with trying to be "commercial or religious" and I am THRILLED to see that Jeremy put it back into action! It is a cool little cache, so come and check it out if you are in this neck of the woods! Thanks again! MissAngele
  14. I just wanted to add to El Diablo's comments about Hawk-Eye! If not for his endless e-mails of help, I would have given this thing up a while back! He even went out of his way to send me his own software mapping program to keep. No questions asked! Very kind man! Can't wait to meet you and your family this weekend! Thank you for all of your time, patients, knowledge and generousity! Most appreciated. You have made an addict out of me! : MissAngele
