  1. I already have City Navigator 4.1, 5, and 7 that I use with my StreetPilot III. I will need the Topo maps and a larger card though. Who has good prices on maps and the mounts?
  2. I thought the issue with the 60Cx, CSx was the USB connection. Will GSAK work with the serial connection?
  3. After actually comparing both the 76 and 60, the wife and I decided that the 60 felt better to us. I ordered a 60CSx this afternoon. It ships tomorrow and I should have it Wed. Now I need to find a good price on the Topo map and marine/auto mount.
  4. I have narrowed my choices of a handheld GPS to either the Garmin GPS Map 60CSx or the GPS Map 76CSx. The 76CSx is $40 more than the 60. From Garmin's web site the specs look the same, with the case, button locations and size of the memory card being the only differences. Are there any other differences that make one better than the other? Which is the better choice, and is there any difference in the base map? Thanks
  5. The 76CSX is $40 more. Do you think it is worth the extra $40? How easy are the buttons to operate? I would think the ones at the bottom would be eaiser to operate, but have only used the SPIII with buttons on the side. The 76CSX does have an external antenna jack it looks like, and perhaps has a better base map than the 60, more like the SPIII has.
  6. I am looking for a handheld GPS for geocaching and navigation in a boat and could use some advice. The primary use for the GPS will be geocaching. A secondary use for the GPS will be navigation in a ski boat on two large lakes in Arkansas. The main use for the boat navigation will be to mark waypoints to return to later. I would like to be able to load topo maps to the GPS so I can see shoreline, islands, etc on the lakes. I want to upload cache waypoints to the GPS with GSAK pc based geocaching software. When geocaching, I plan to use my Garmin Streetpilot III to route to the location as close as I can drive a touring motorcycle, then use the handheld GPS to navigate to the cache site. I will load the cache information to my iPaq PDA and update the field logs with the PDA. I have successfully loaded cache waypoints to the Streetpilot using GSAK, and have had success finding caches with it, but using the Streetpilot away from the vehicle is not a real good option as it is too bulky to use as a handheld for very long. I have been looking at the Magellan explorist 500 and 600 and the Garmin GPSMap 60CSX. Are there other units that work with GSAK I should consider also? Since I currently own Garmin (and have City Navigator ver 4.01, 5, and 7 installed on my computer) would it be best to stay with Garmin and install the Garmin topo maps to Mapsource also?
  7. Try the exe downloads and see if they will install. You might also check to make sure those programs will run on WM 5, some won't I understand. I upgraded my iPAQ 2755 to WM 5, and went back to the old operating system as a lot of things quit working.
