I am going to Wyoming. If I find a travel bug on the way, can I pick it up and bring it back to California and put it in an already existing cache out here?

I'm going to Yosemite this weekend and will be looking for my first caches!!! I have had my ETrex Vista for over a month and have downloaded some waypoints but haven't actually used it yet. There are over 500 Yosemite area caches and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if the geocaching website has a way to point me to ones that are actual caches (not virtual) and are easy difficulty/terrain. We have a 5 year old that we wouldn't want to take on difficult terrain or anywhere semi-dangerous or high. We also don't have 4 wheel drive. Thanks!!!!

Right. I can see the downloaded caches on my desktop. My GPS also gives me a message of "transfer complete" when I try to download them onto my unit. I haven't entered any by hand yet. I followed what you said and I can only see "garmin" waypoints.

It's just the standard Vista and I downloaded the "EasyGPS" software to download waypoints off of the geocaching website. My Vista didn't come with any software except what was already in it. The waypoints I downloaded are on my desktop so I know they made their way onto my computer, just can't find them in my Vista. Although my Vista recognized that it was receiving info when it was attached to my computer.

After lurking here since December, I finally bought an Etrex Vista which was on clearance at Sports Chalet. It looks really cool but even with the manual, I'm still not sure how to use it. I hooked it up to my computer to download some caches near my house, but I can't find them on my Vista. I see Garmin waypoints but I saved these ( I think) under names I could recognize. Can anyone walk me through downloading waypoints off the geocaching.com website onto my Vista? I downloaded a gpx program but is there a different one everyone uses that makes it easy for someone new like me?? Thanks for any help! I want to go find a cache!!!!
