  3. There are hundreds of folk that cache with the old yellow etrex (I'm included there) and they don't support maps at all - I have used it in various countries I have travelled in - it is fun just following the arrow - enjoy!

  5. At last- yes it was the Bulshoek dam - as mentioned in my log on the cache I also thought the cache would be closer to the dam wall, but it is a magic road and a great cache - so over to you Hasamati

I concur with Br&Pc and could not have put it better myself. it is a sad day when this sort of thing happens, they are only fooling themselves and unfortunately there is not too much we can do about it except hope that sooner or later they will come to the realisation that it is not all about the numbers!

I have a simple yellow Ertex and when I enter a waypoint through the Mark facility it gives me the option to change N to S and W to E or vice versa - you could also try to download a waypoint from a southern hemisphere cache to your GPS and see that it can be done. I often travel from South Africa to Europe and the US and never have had any problem. I go along with the others - leave your GPS on for at leat half an hour when you arrive - it takes that long for it to find the new satelites.
  14. stupidly I was further down south and was going for the Cobra and the other one near the stadium on my way home without thinking - could not get near - so came home - unfortunately not available tonight - enjoy Trev!

  18. On any cache page open the "View larger map" just above the logs - then enter the address into the Search for Geocaches field and you should get all the caches around the address.
  19. Google earth - with sidebar in view - simply enter the coordinates into the field marked fly to.... and off you go.

  21. Thanks guys - have a friend who had the same experience i.e. no problem - Got the cable and had no problems with Windows 7 and used the supplied CD with XP - great stuff!
