both passes for me tomorrow have forecasts for mostly clear skies. I should get good views, and temps expected in the low 80s for both. Great viewing conditions.

I'll be out in the AM for partner with your 2nd.

Welcome to @bergprinzessin and congrats on your first pi\ublished waymark

OK, I have me in Bethany OK, Iconions in Olathe KS, TheHosta's in Holland MI and elyob in Ottawa ON partnering for the late ISS pass on July 15. Yosam. in Warrenton MO needs a partner in OKC (99 or Snowdog?) and maybe Bon Echo would also partner in Ontario. Warrenton is too close to Olathe for Yosam. to work with us.

Question about Visiting Waymarks
vulture1957 replied to jonathanatpsu's topic in General Waymarking Topics
If I can do a VERY good estimate of when I was there (my Grand Canyon visit - pictures from there have my son at less than 1 yr old means I was there the summer of 1980) I will do one. I have a picture of me there. My visit to Wrigley Field was for my 16th birthday. so I know when that was, so a visit is good. I spent almost 3 years in England and another 2.5 in Germany. I went and visited many places while there, but it could be any time in those years, so I don't post visits. And most I have no pictures left of being there. But this is the way I play the game. -
yes, if you see one, stop right then. It doesn't take them long to cross, or they end up squished!
-
yes, I've found I think it's 3 folks around Ontario/Quebec that don't have an ISS Sighting. Hoping they'll return my emails and partner with some of us. Also waiting on return emails from Chicago areas.

Welcome back to @mtbearded1, and congrats on your 2nd posted waymark.

Welcome to @TheRealLeslieKnope, and congrats on your first waymark published

but that's a Catch 22. GS won't spend resources because there are so few waymarkers; there are so few waymarkers because GS won't spend resources. Folks who DO try Waymarking have a tendency to get bummed when they notice the lack of interest from Groundspeak. If Groundspeak would actively advertise Waymarking, and do a little more than basic maintenance on the site, maybe there would be more waymarkers. We'll never know if it never gets tried.

fly me to Ireland, and I'm all in!!

I have NO idea where I came up with a visible pass on July 18. Anything other than July 15 can be ignored. Thank you all.
-
I checked into N2YO web site and checked out the track of the July 15 pass. As far as I can tell, it looks like it will stay visible all across the Atlantic. It passes between Barcelona and Madrid. Maybe the Portugese waymarkers would get a 45 degree or better viewing.
-
the pass on Jul 18 is from NW to SE and ends over OK. Maybe @ScroogieII can see that pass?
-
if I was looking at the correct locations on Heaven's Above, Bethany and Olathe are just about 1.5 minutes of travel time. Chicago will be way more than 1 minute away from you. Not sure exactly where in Michigan The Hosta's are, so can't be sure if they make 1 minute from Chicago. Or if they're interested.
-
There are a couple with really good azimuths by me Jul 15 and 18, just before 10 pm. I have written to folks in Kansas, Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan. @Max and 99 and @The Snowdog, I may get more than one player too close to each other, so I may have to ask for help getting matched pairs. This time of the year, it's possible that the ISS will stay in sunlight to Europe, if anyone can check on that and see if we can try to get players in Europe. I think the 15th goes up along the St Lawrence Seaway, so if anyone around Buffalo or areas up there can check for suitable sightings. I've contacted The Hostas, Iconions, Ranger Boy and Libbykc.

I've actually been thru there. I wish I had known about it!
-
no, actually I was in the bedroom. But I was thinking that lots of people used to say "Everything, including the kitchen sink." and "Better than sliced bread, or best thing since sliced bread." So they'd make good challenges.
-
new challenge -- waymark a kitchen sink. Or sliced bread.
