The ebay fees would be just under 10 dollars for final value fee and 30? cents for listing fee (depends on your starting price). Figure $5.80 for paypal fees, but that happens regardless off ebay or not. It would be less for ebay fees, but ebay jacked up their final value fees (but lowered listing fees by a tiny little bit) a few weeks ago.

Poll: Do you use a GPS for geocaching?
RussellM replied to ssgeo83's topic in General geocaching topics
Do is use a GPS; of course. It's one thing to find a light pole cache with google earth, but good luck finding a more difficult cache in the woods. I'm going to make a prediction that 95% (at least) use a GPS -
I have a Magellan Triton 200 for sale. I bought it a few weeks ago yet got a great deal on a Vista CX. The gps wasn't even opened. I am looking for 100$ plus shipping, but I am flexible. If you have any questions or an offer, please email me at sunyesf at gmail.com. The Magellan Triton has a full color screen, built in base maps of the US, WAAS. You can also add detailed maps and software. Overall, a great introductory gps.

What if the satellites were unavailable?
RussellM replied to CarlfromOH's topic in General geocaching topics
I have a hard time choosing between reverting to LORAN or trying letterboxing. When it comes to the latter, there sure are a lot around here. -

Wanted.: a good gps unit for a begginer
RussellM replied to sticks1983's topic in GPS technology and devices
Yeah, ok, so you did say legend. I guess i had vista on my mind. Anyway, I still stand by my recommendation that a yellow etrex is the perfect gpsr for someone who doesn't want to spend a lot of money (an 80 legend is by no means a lot of money either). I've hiked in over 7 miles one way for a geocache with my etrex. Then again, if you are sure that you are going to like geocaching, go all out and get yourself the best gps you can buy. You wouldn't belive how often they come in handy RussellM -

An etrex vista is the lowest unit you would recommend? If he has been geocaching with a tom tom, i think a compass and map would be a step up, let alone something as simple as a yellow etrex. You can easily get a yellow etrex for 50 dollars around these forums (or ebay) that would serve your purposes. You can also get a geko 301, which has a small display, yet comes with electronic compass and altimeter for 80 bucks from a site mentioned previously on these forums. Either way, start off small and go from there. Good luck in your search Russell -

Carry on is ok, but different airlines (and the different flight attendents for that matter) have different rules about GPS. I thought i was going to get kicked off the plane the first time i took it out, but my dad has used his multiple times (all within a few years). It can't hurt to try....

Multi Hides and the .10 Rule Question
RussellM replied to frex3wv's topic in General geocaching topics
And there lies my problem. I tried to place a cache in a location where multi cache had a virtual leg. To get the coords to the final cache, you had to email the owner a photo of you at the top of this mtn. There was no physical cache of any form. When i tried to place one, it was denied, even after a few emails back and forth with the reviewer. -

Picture this. Its july 4th and I'm paddling out to an island with a few friends. We get to the island and start to look for the geocache. What do i find in the geocache.... firecrackers. The most useful and fun swag ever found. While it might be frowned uppon my those who stick to the rules, it made my day.

What Kind Of Vehicle Do You Drive While Geocaching
RussellM replied to uncleboogie's topic in General geocaching topics
I drive a cavalier LS to all of my geocaches. The viper says in the garage where it won't get scratched. Never geocached anywhere the cavalier couldn't handle, so no complaints -
Edited because i didn't answer the question asked.
