  1. You could always put one IN the cache.
  2. I was wondering about this horrifying possibility while lurking before I got my GPS. While in the US Air Force, I was in Explosive Ordnance Disposal before moving on to Aeroballistics Research. One thing we were acutely aware of was how dangerous and unpredictable an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) can be. That has been over 10 years in the past and I still look unfamiliar containers over befor handling them. May none of us or anyone for that matter have something of this nature happen.
  3. It's also a cheat code on a PC game "Starcraft".
  4. I tried the search function and it didn't work for me. My question is, has anyone used a dessicant in a cache? I only claim 2 finds so far and both were alarmingly damp. Mildew would soon set in if nothing is done soon. Walmart carries a dessicant in a can to use in closets, safes, etc. Drop one of these in a cache and all moisture should be absorbed.
  5. A business around the corner makes rubber stamps to order. Try looking in your area. Seen them used in log books.
  6. I got an Etrex Legend. And the friend I brought with me bought a Explorist 200 the night after the find.
  7. I've spent most of my life in the woods and on Lake Maurepas and this gives me yet another aspect to enjoy. Looking forward to many more finds and a few hides once I get a little more familiar.
  8. I went out today with a friend a found my first cache. And I don't think it'll be my last. Brought a friend with me during the hunt and I believe he'll be joining our ranks soon.
  9. I'm not really worried about it as Everywhere I go is pretty much sea level anyway. I was mostly curious. Thanks for the quick response.
  10. I have a new GPS that I got yesterday for Christmas. It's a Garmin Etrex Legend. I am absolutely new to the GPS and am canstantly amazed at the amount of info I've gotten from it. But I've noticed that the elevation cannot be correct. I've gotten incosistent readings at similar locations and it fluctuates when I'm stationary. Is this normal?
