Just found my first TB today, it was the only item in the cache. Was i supposed to leave a bug of my own or what? The cache was up in a tree,and my adrenaline was pumping so hard i forgot my swag......so i left a dollar from my wallet...LOL

My Legend C beeps to tell me when im arriving at my waypoint but my problem is it beeps whan I am about 100ft away! Any way to change that so it beeps like 30 or 40ft away...Thanks for your help!!!!

Howdy folks! New to this hobby/addiction. Just today found #10 today,only had my GPSr for a week or so now and love it! Any way my question is as follows . How close to a exsisting cache can i place mine?I remember reading it should be like 500ft. or so. Why is that? I would like to place one very close to my house to watch you guys, but theres a micro 243ft from my front door. What should i do? Any comments would be apprieciated.

Thanks Palm G But my second question was a sort of.....meaning i can go in and manually enter my route on my PC then mark way points as turns and go from there or is that to much work????

Recently bought a Legend C that came with trip and waypoint disk. Was given a Legend for Christmas......lucky me!!!!!Plan on keeping both units. can i download my disk on two different computers one at home and one at work or do i need to "unlock them"? Also with this disk is my Legend now sort of capable of auto-roughting via the trip and waypoint disk??? Thanks for any info!!!!

Can anybody tell me where to find out more info on the new Garmin x series. What new features? What new price? And what date are these going to be available? Any help would be appreciated ,,,,,,,,,THANKS MUCH

Do the topo programs show lakes and rivers and there depth or do they stop at the shoreline????If not, are there any that do?What is the best topo program for the Legend?

How do the Etrex models fair in cold weather i will be doing some winter caching and some ice fishing what do i have to worry about........thanks

Heres something I forgot to add.....Im planning on buying my brother a unit also and im leaning toward the Legend if I bought the Legend C for myself and say he went out and bought some cool software for it ..........could I borrow it from him???????Or do they frown upon stuff like that............

I think i have it narrowed down to the Legend series im just not sure if i want to pop for the color screen, along with caching i would like to use it for fishing and hunting, but im not even sure what maps i would use nore do i know what 8MB will hold versus the Legend C, it seems to have a bigger memory. Any pros or cons you folks can think of???????

I know this is probably the best place to learn about specific units but does any one know of any websites that review GPS units so i can see every thing side by side. Im so confused at what to get!!!!.....................THANKS

Hey folks i guess ill post my question here, you all seem to know a thing or two about the topic. Im brand new to this and am wondering what GPS unit is right for me? I found my first cache today and i dont even own one yet, i plan on using my unit for fishing, hunting and caching . I dont think i need a basemap because wont be using it for the highway, nore would i need a compass or altimeter. Im just looking for the basics under $200 bucks.Any help would be great.
