  1. I was in cub scouts for wolf and bear, then all my skateboarding punk friends at the time started teasing me. But now, since my step-son got into it, I am his den leader and planning on going for woodbadge in september of this year. I totally regret not staying with it when I was younger. Being the den leader let's me see all the great stuff that I missed out on, so now I get to make up for lost time!!!
  2. OMG!!! Was that stain made by the dirt on the ground, or the dirt you produced by the scare factor sliding down that hill Sorry, but that is too funny, I know if it were me, that stained wouldn't have been made from mother natures dirt. How long where you picking leaves out of every orfice of your body for? The cargo pants look pretty snazzy though....
  3. Yep, it is a little corkey to figure out, but hey, it comes in handy for the little things. Talk with a real person, wow, that is a rare find these days.
  4. Hi, I'm RJW661 and I'm a compulsive geocacher. (the crowd replies) Hi RJW661
  5. Nothing but a bunch of cans and onions voyeur's!!!! With everyone showing there cans, it must be getting close to Mardi Gras!!!
  6. I've used the WAP site a couple of times, works pretty good when in a bind, but mainly stick with cachmate for all my finds.....Any who, for all you treo user's here's a mapping download I found http://mytreo.net/downloads/details-915.html?Earthcomber It's nothing spectacular, haven't figured out everything, put it's pretty cool, and the best thing is....IT'S FREE!!!! Has anyone else seen this? I wonder if there is a way to download caches onto it, kinda like google earth.
  7. I have poker chips with my screename and a little quote on them....
  8. Does anyone out there know of a way to select certain caches to export to Cachmate from GSAK? Everytime I go to export the file it sends all of the caches I have in GSAK.
  9. Thanks for the link!!!! "853.9mi from your home coordinates" I don't think so!!! Looks like I'll be placing this in another cache this weekend. Thanks everyone for your help!!!! Now how many of you are going to watch me and see which cache I am at and jump out of trees to scare the beejeebies out of me?!?
  10. I figured I would be a little over reacting . I did email them back saying I wasn't quit sure what they we asking, could they be more spacific......haven't heard anything back yet. Do you think "Ruthless Huron View at zip 48105" is the name of the cache? Is there a way to do a search by name for a cache?
  11. I found a travel bug this weekend and logged it in that i found it and what not. I get this email from someone through the geocaching web site wanting me to drop the TB off at another cache or wanting to come pick it up on a certain date. Here is what the email said: "Granadven is is Fort Myers today. Spunky started in Ann Arbor Michigan in April 2005. What are the chances we could get Spunky back to Ruthless Huron View at zip 48105? Or pick him up before Feb 7 and take him back? Thanks for the update. The Gran". Now, I checked out there profile and they have been a member for about a year, but no cache's found, watching, etc.... They have no information. Just seems a little weird to me, or since I'm a newbie am I over reacting? Thanks for the help!!!!
  12. I drive a little '00 S-10, and my wife has the '05 Xterra that I would love to get my hands on and rig up for some serious offroading.....But that is like asking for a day off at work, gotta go through the system. I'm contiplating on trading my S-10 in for an older Xterra, very versitle machine they are!!
  13. You must live in the same area I do!!!!!! I use the backpack that came with my Xterra. Can you believe I bought a $25,000 dollar Nissan backpack and got a free '05 Xterra with it!!!! What a deal!!! Good little backpack for Geocaching.
  14. Just wondering what kind of vehicle do people drive while Geocaching. Do you have 4x4's for the off-road cache's? Are there road warriors that mainly stick to the ones that you can drive right up to, or hike back?
  15. I think that is a killer idea...mind if I steal the idea for my cub scout den??? There are some cool ideas for swag in it, council patches, cub scout toothbrushes, etc... My step-daughter is in girl scout too, I'll have to throw that idea at them
  16. Speaking of caching with children...I am the den leader for my step-sons cub scout den and was thinking of taking them on a cache hunt. There are only 5 boys and there parents. The park that we meet at for our den meetings have 2 caches in it. What do ya'll think about taking a cub scout den on a cache? They won't have to drive anywhere, it will be at our usual meeting spot, and just walking back to the caches. Should I go and find the caches first, just to see how tough they are? Or have them be the one's to find it, tell them about the GPS, let them take turns holding the GPS and guiding all of us? They already earned there Map and Compass belt loop, so they know about a compass and what is does. Could be fun!!! But they'll be upset because there is no belt loop for Geocaching. Maybe we need to approach the BSA on this
  17. Whats he gonna do ... stomp his feet and scream like a girl? NICE!!!!!!! spell check, spell check, spell check...oops!
  18. True...... If the SWAT cop doesnt' scare them off. Then all the gazillion kids around are going to bug the crap out of the cacher with "what are you doing", "what is that", etc...... Which would be worse?
  19. I don't think I'd do it. First, I live in a neighborhood, not really a up tight neighborhood, we're pretty laid back. But I do have a cop that live's a couple houses down, who is on the SWAT team, and get's a little edgy when people that don't live on the street come driving around. Don't get me wrong, he is a very nice gay, and nice to have around looking over us. But if he saw someone snooping around our house during the day, it could get ugly!!!
  20. I'll be 32 in Feb. My tag alongs are wife 26, step-son 8, step daughter 7, and daughter 9 months...... So this makes fun for a Geocache group. If your out caching around us, you'll hear us coming a mile up the trail!!! The two older one's nag at each other all the time, and the baby usually is just yapping up a storm along the trail, but we have fun and that's all that matters.
  21. To all of you with Boxers, how in the heck have you managed to keep a boxer tame while caching? I have had Boxer's my whole life, and everyone of them is a wild and crazy kid. I'd love to take my Boxer "Roxie" with me now, but she is a spaaaz. Do you keep them on leashes? It is a neighborhood event when my dog gets out, she runs, and runs, and runs..... I give a big thumbs up for anyone who has a tame Boxer!!!!! I wouldn't have any other dog though.
  22. Yes, I admit it, it's me. I uploaded an Avatar, did the whole "register" thing over again, but it's still not coming up. Any ideas??? Yes, I am standing here waiting for my swift kick in the a**. God Bless!!!!
