  1. That's a bit of me there.... My personal choices are always purples, pinks, blues, reds.... But I would be in on this coin, breaking all my moderation rules! I wonder why?? Addiction denial again!
  2. Sold some months ago.... As to popularity - I doubt many outside the US would be interested in this coin. So consider rarity as one issue, tradability as another.
  3. Mission ONE 1. Participating - yes 2. Received Name - yes, a child - wonder if the mum in the family would like chocolate sent???? Maybe marshmellow is more suitable???? 3. Mission Complete - Yes, just a little chocolate, but lots of other things found too.... Mailed Friday 6th March.... A long way to go. Decided that the 25 days mailing option was not good enough. Should be there within 10 days, so they say!!! 4. Mission Arrived! Mission TWO 1. Participating - yes 2. Received Name - Oh, a adult - definitely NZ chocolate going there. 3. Mission Complete - North American continent - could be anyone of many.... Mailed today, with a little caching flavour. 4. Mission Arrived!
  4. Consider what I've always had to pay..... shipping of $15US is not uncommon for me. So I consider carefully and consolidate, buy and then discover the next day a new coin listed that I want!!!
  5. Lovely to see an honest cacher. BTW - I need the same last year. Once I sent a replacement (totally different coin) the original turned up in MY car, which we seldom use when out caching! It will be somewhere.
  6. Wow! Impressive. Having visited NT - From Alice to Darwin - I see familar scenes. Well done.
  7. I visited way back in 2003. Went to the "Celtica" village, walked the labyrinth, then had to miss King Arthur's labyrinth.... but I got the chance to drive into a mining village / valley... Took me back to the movie "How Green is my valley". I also loved hearing the Welsh Celtic dialect being spoken.... so musical... Now, I'm trying hard not to buy coins, but my arm is twisted slightly on this one... Question is where?
  8. The local shops tell me no Easter merchandise until March. Oh well, the grocery shops have Choc Marshmellow Bunnies, so it can't be too far away... Just worried as both missions have to go overseas (just because I live on an island nation in the South Pacific, and sense I am the only kiwi here) Well, I'm sure my receipients would like what I found instead anyway... they may prefer geocoins to chocolate anyway!
  9. I use a jacket, only because it has two flip pockets. The 2nd pocket has a printout of the mission for the coin. Means then, that whoever picks it up knows the mission immediately, and does not have to wait until computer access to find out. If a cacher then has a cache that meets the goal visited soon after pick up, then the coin is most likely dropped there. How many coins have you seen in events, that you then find out have a "never take me to an event" mission?, just one example
  10. Gee - I hope this is NOT the first place people come to so as to complain. I have had about 3 issues with non receipt over the few years of spending far too much money on geocoins. Step One: Contact the vendor Step Two: Be pleasant Step Three: Acknowledge the replacement that I have received. I have found that retaining all sales receipt /paypal email receipts, having correct dates and being polite gets a result. Surely, a vendor should not have to come to this forum to discover a problem. Surely, the complainant has already contacted the vendor through the correct channels. If no reply is received, contact them again. Email problems do occur. Spam filters will not deliver your email if they contain certain words. Try the vendor FIRST. Edit to add.... The Sales contract is with the vendor and payer, not the full community. So I acknowledge that vendors have no obligation to check problems here. It's good to see some taking an active interest. But let's remember that airing problems, small or large makes some vendors less likely to be so helpful. I see several bending over backwards to give good service.
  11. MY HARDEST MISSION EVER........ A big apology to my recipient... I'm going to have to start again.... Never, ever, leave chocolates near a choco-holic!
  12. Update, I received my Pirate geocoins today, along with the caching items I had ordered. Included also was a free extra geocoin. This appears to be a vendor trying to make good the fact that he was let down by the minting process. The copper pirate coin that had tracking errors was substituted with a silver one. I am happy with the result,. One of the caching items has extras included also.
  13. MISSION ONE 1. Participating- email sent 2. Received Name- Yes - oh, goodie! I like this one indeed! It's going to be fun putting this one together - but it has a loooooong way to go. Will also need to research local Easter customs. 3. Mission Complete 4. Mission Arrived! MISSION ONE 1. Participating- email sent 2. Received Name- Yes - another challenging one 3. Mission Complete 4. Mission Arrived! Is this a GOOD hint? ALL coins are welcomed - as I send out travellers into the caching world.
  14. I received a couple of these last week - but wondered whether I should open the mailer or call the bomb squad. It is so strange - the mailer was lighting up red flashes among the mail pile..... Surprised it made it through the mail system. Or maybe it only started flashing as the mailer was squeezed against the other mail in the pile?
  15. Oh - is this a swap mission - where we send to and receive from the same person?
  16. Wow - that was fast. Today I received postcards, letter and Kansas souvenirs from Snowball 58. Many thanks. Oh - there was a lovely New Year geocoin too! Really lovely this year with sapphire blue background and embossed stars. Old year ending, new year baby beginning. Almost too nice to share! Many thanks Snowball 58. And what a neat mission!
  17. Wish hard. My two arrived today, and sorry, they are just too wonderful to give away, Well just yet..... I am thinking of one young geocacher here in NZ that it is perfect for... Maybe, with the exchange rate improving, I might be tempted to get more. Wow! Mike - what a great pendant. Well done
  18. Well, no harm in trying my favourite... A goodie, often overlooked, but superb story and acting... With Jamie & Arnie... TRUE LIES
  19. I had a coin that someone took to Oz from NZ..... Placed it in an Australian listed cache (not GC.com) and no info since..... SO annoying! Evendale. I had another one early on, that was dropped into a Hungary cache, again not GC.com... LOST! In both cases I am not registered on those countries local sites..... so no luck in ever seeing them again!
  20. Just a quick update. I received a wonderful Cupid mission. Chocolates, heart stickers, and more heart stickers. Splat snowball - and it didn't melt in the 30+ temperatures (80+F) And coins...... Photos to follow once I get to upload. Thanks Burgess Four! We actually ended up with each other for the mission, at the same time we were trading, and neither let on......
  21. No, it's for the 2009 mission. I was part of the January/February group. I was just closing out my data sheet. : ) Ah - your birthday is still another week away. Waiting is hard. Happy Birthday to all February Birthday gals & guys!
  22. WINNER! Well done Team CeDo! Post #53 This is one cache that I have on my "Challenge List". I'm a little claustophobic. Just. I had the opportunity to do it some months ago, but the device was not working then, so I decline.... But I do mean to go back. Yes, it is two days drive away from home. Yes, It requires either a ferry to the south Island, or a plane trip. Yes, I cannot travel that distance for only one cache. What I liked about your post was that you added some research about our Rugby League team. You found out a bit more about New Zealand. Well done, send me your mailing address, and I'll get the coin off to you. Allow two weeks for the snail.... unless you wish to activate it, and have me drop it into a cache to take even longer. recent mailings abroad have taken only 8 t0 9 days. WELL DONE to EVERYONE! Thank you all for participating!
  23. Winning Cache was published 3 September 2006
  24. YES WE HAVE A WINNER! But I think you are all winners, in that you got to see a little bit of the gem of a place I live in..... Now, don't ya all think so!
  25. Yeah, but the one I'm thinking of would be two days driving, plus a ferry ride away.... or a flight, rental car and return! I think I'll try....
