  1. December - the two seasons of December - Nth & Sth Hemisphere. After all, snow in JULY here. White December unheard of.
  2. Great - my grandson might even be allowed one - but only if his parents give him his own caching profile!
  3. Ditto..... maybe the email that we got ended up in their spam basket. Or maybe they have an email address for geocaching emails only, that only gets read occassionally. I know I get up to 1,000 emails a day after an event when I take the coin collection. One thing - maybe we still have sunshine coming our way. I'm still looking on the bright side - maybe a little naive, but I like to be hopeful rather than angry or disillusioned.
  4. My worst one was a dragonfly design - so tiny. I am grateful that the micro "don't forget your pen" coin is legible. Black on silver or white on black is great - forget gold, it's too hard to read in most cases.
  5. Good luck with that... NZ Post severely under estimate every other Postal Systems delivery times. Sad - but true. 3-5 days usually means 5 to infinity days True - Op Sunshine sent 5 weeks ago..... still not arrived. Mind you - I do get coins from the States here within 7 days of mailing. From the UK within 5 days. Once got a large package from UK 3 days after I ordered it! NZ Post seem fast on sorting and delivering this end. So I wonder where the hold up is going the other direction.
  6. Ditto! Ditto! Some of the older editions were close on impossible. I once set a geocoin off on a journey after activating it with the wrong number - an E and F mixed...... (blanket activation code allowed this) Recently the codes have been much more read-able. Then came one with the lightly engraved code on the rim (? edge) that was impossible. I have found that at night I have to put some coins aside until my eyes are fresh and even then can only read them under a very strong light. At one stage I was tempted to give away or trade all my "wee codes" coins just because I felt so old (at 49) that my spectacles enhanced eyes could not read them. Turn this around - THANKS and a bouquet to all those who have in the past ensured good read-able codes. Engraved large figures/ digits enhanced with a contrast colour - preferably a DARK colour will aid us all.
  7. You have an email...... Something went astray in the snail mail. Hopefully it is currently on a slow boat..... rather than totally lost. Thank you for the email, it brings me some sunshine, or at least brightened my morning. Replacement sent - NZ Sunshine on it's way AGAIN. new lesson - it dawned on me AFTER I sent it, thank I should have RECORDED the tracking # of the coins sent..... duh! Then I can occassionally search and see if someone other than the intended has activated it... Next mission - will do so
  8. Operation CHOCOLATE Mission One ChocoEmail Sent - yes ChocoName Received - yes ChocoMission Sent - Posted some very KIWI chocolate today 9th April It's going north - hopefully will arrive next week: 3 to 5 working days quoted. ChocoMission Received - waiting..... Operation CHOCOLATE Mission Two ChocoEmail Sent - Yes ChocoName Received - Oh, someone from a cooler climate. ChocoMission Sent - 9 April 4pm handed over the counter at NZ POST shop. hopefully will arrive next week: 3 to 5 working days quoted. ChocoMission Received - waiting.....
  9. Amazing what goes on while I am working. No, I don't work nights - well not local nights! Fascinating to come in and see the humour.... But I see it's curtains now to you all running Windows.
  10. Today, Wednesday, I got.... 4 Discover Me "Hello my name is..." name tag.... are they coins or what? Plus one each of the mermaids and 2 "don't forget your pen" micro - and they are truly micro - too small to release.
  11. 1) how many do you have in hand - 241 plus all my unactivated ones - many are for trades etc. 2) how many do you have released - 126 3) how many have been given away to those who don't "Do" coins( do not want to count coins twice) - Only trade / give to those who are active cachers or collector / trader = so I guess the answer to this question is zero / nil / zilch. Total activated to date - 360 Unactivated - about 120 Lost or stolen while travelling.... 7 plus 2 TBs (kiwis) That's only a 5% loss - small risk, even though every loss is always a disappointment in human nature, or a cache lost.
  12. At last, the March club coins have arrived. And a nano cache (non trackable) that I traded for. Great day - started early with a balloon flight over the city. Home at lunchtime to some coins and the rest of the day off work to sort out coins going out.
  13. Ditto - I've ended up lose / lose here. Something sent and lost in the mail. Nothing yet received. SO my 1st mission is a complete failure to date. So, tell am I crazy to do it all again with CHOCOLATE ????
  14. Oh, to have that sort of numbers to trade! Oh, to attend an event that would have that quantity of cachers willing to trade... Oh, so lucky! There are only so many collectors in NZ, that I don't even have to take my shoes off to count digitally.... so to speak.
  15. YUM... TIme for me to visit you again....
  16. You have an email...... Something went astray in the snail mail. Hopefully it is currently on a slow boat..... rather than totally lost.

  18. I did once - because of a blanket activation code, and a hard to read coin code. I entered an "E" when it should have been a "F". It was not until it was out in the wild that it was noticed. The only way I got it deactivation was to contact Groundspeak, tell them the mistake (ie. own up) get the original coin back etc..... It's now back in the wild again. Travelling well and collecting logs. It was not a quick process to deactivate... took a while to find the right person. But if you looking to trade it once activated, consider the adoption process instead. Just ensure the receipent is aware that it is activated first.
  19. Ditto - Would love to see one down here in NZ. Also happy to release one - also off to Perth WA, in July.
  20. Almost the same here I am waiting for more than 6 packages right now that all could have been here right now if everything worked good! One is on its way for more than 7 weeks now And the only thing I found today in my mailbox was a flyer from a local computer shop Let's wait for the mailman tomorrow... Opposite for me - I sent a small item to the US on the first Monday in March - letter rate, airmail. It has yet to arrive there.
  21. A good week here down under.... Yesterday - a full set of Moon Mushroom coins Today, two packages - Chase your dreams, United World - BN & BN/Gold, Highland geofairy in all three colours, including an extra for trade. (BTW - there ARE fairies at the bottom of MY garden - in among the trees, I have little plastic and ceramic ones) Certified Geocoin Addict - gold and nickel - what a hoot seeing the reverse side! Bleuet, Cache Agent in violet glitterand a Severn Railway for my radio / train nut caching partner - well he can oogle it, but I keep it. No photo today.
  22. bump to top of list again 1. Participating: Email sent 2. Received Name: Yes 3. Mission Complete: Sent, but no posts yet - sent by Airmail 3 March. 4. Mission: Sunshine still anticipated..... patience is wonderful. But count me in for two should the mission be repeated, woken up to cool morning, with fog. Autumn is making it's presence known. Leaves on the ground. Colourful trees. Cool mornings and evenings. Hot days.
  23. That's one lake I do not know..... must find out - TC is there a cache there?
  24. I've taken the advise of an experience mission-er or is that missionary here in NZ..... I'm prepared to tempt fate and join in..... Border patrol - ignore this package. Email sent.
