  1. We love both travel and caching. So in planning our trips, we would love to do attend events, especially Mega events and will plan a trip around such. We would love it, if we could search events by "country" without having to define by states - not every country has numerous states - and also by type. Eg CITO, Mega etc... We are hoping to go to Canada (From New Zealand) next, and searching by states takes so much time..... Recently we went to China - a huge country, but with so few caches, searching by newest, which puts it in date order was easy.... not so with countries that have cache saturation!
  2. I can beat this..... My cache, epsecially for the junior cachers - GCTEGJ junior gardener was in a public garden, placed behind the seat. The local council removed the seat and built a new one in the same place. An adobe seat with all sorts of common items embedded in it..... AND in the rear a letter box just the right size. They carefully placed the cache in that letter box!
  3. Go to website. On right side of page change language to English (or US) click on Pirate geocoins (left side of page) choose coins, add to cart. Complete or continue shopping. When all chosen, complete order. Add location - this is black and will highlight to light blue. continue through the prompt for address, mailing costs etc.
  4. There are several out there for sale - you don't have to wait for an auction to close - buy it direct is always a good option. Geocoinstore has a pirate coin - round with a treasure map theme. Also has blackbeard coins coinsandpins have Compass rose and other navigation coins - not quite pirate, but close Landsharkz has fish bowls. geoswage has pirates of Idylwood, as well as many sea themed travel tags
  5. Okay - for all your northern hemisphere cachers, it is not spring here! I have to wait another six months for that! Here in South Pacific New Zealand, we are just entering the cooler days, but still caching, as where I am located there is unlikely to be snow on the ground. During the coller months though our caching weekends are less often, and less likely to be treks! But for those fortuntate enough we may get to fly north..... and that's what I am REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO this year. All going well, I hope to cache on sacred ground. Although not all caches are there, I hope to find at least one of four caches located at Angkor Wat, Cambodia. And maybe several in Singapore on the stop over. I just it will be a taste of spring during our cooler months - though nearer the equator there are only 2 seasons - wet and dry, while further away there are four! What is best about going there to cache, is that it is butterfly country! If anyone knows me, then they will know I LOVE butterflies. We have so few here, and only the Monarch as a mid size (and our largest) butterfly. We do have a tropical butterfly house that is a controlled environment, but none free.... so Cambodia has a huge attraction (lets not discuss other creepy, stingy, bitey bugs though!)
  6. Postal carriers - happy to make us pay big dollars for postage, but accept no responsibility for it's timely transit!
  7. That would be a great shame if it did not arrive, as this is her first mission, and she put together a great package that arrived on time her in New Zealand. Travelled a long way!
  8. Rule one - swag - those trinkets that fill the cache - trade up or even. Rule two - trackables - owner want them to travel - if you can place them into another cache within two weeks, then take, log them out and help them travel. (no need to swap for another trackable, or swag!) Rule three - prizes, unactivated geocoins, - yours to keep. Trade where possible, or pay it forward. Unofficial rule - TB hotels where owners want a list of trackables, are actually more like prisons. If you can help them travel, then take the ones that have resided in for a month or more!
  9. Bummer. Still nothing from WebXII - which is disappointing - RadioNut50's outgoing mission was to this person, in Portugal. Christmas came, Christmas now past. But, as bad things happen from time to time, we can only assume WebXII has no internet access.
  10. I can confirm that one other is also enroute - RadioNut50's was mailed 18 Nov - has to travel from the bottom of the world to the top of the world.... mailed 18 November - estimated travel time is 4 to 6 weeks, so it should be there this week!
  11. As per my previous post Butterfly_Lady has received a lovely package from a very mysterious rose! RadioNut50 also received a package. Both were much appreciated
  12. Mission 1 - Butterfly_Lady Signed up: Tuesday 25th October Name Received: - Monday 14 November Package Sent - Friday 18 November - and it's posted as received Package Received: - today! All the way from Denmark, and what a neat package - a double CD and DVD, handmade heart hanger, a snowman just to cool our summer days, White flower GC which I forget the name of, for the moment (long day!), a few other things and an activated GC to release over the upcoming summer holidays. Thanks to MysteriousRose - a great package. :santa: :santa: Mission 2 - RadioNut50 Signed up: Tuesday 25th October Name Received: - Monday 14 November Package Sent - Friday 18 November - Package Received: - yes - Saturday 10 December - Thanks to Steben6 Photos have been taken of both, and will be posted soon. MISSION almost complete - just waiting to hear if RadioNut's outgoing mission has arrived at it's destination. :santa: :santa:
  13. Sorry! Maybe I forgot to add my caching name...steben6. I meant to! I sent the package to RadioNut50 and I hope he likes it!! No - he has now opened it and discovered your caching name on the card. I was not going to open it for him, while he was busy cleaning up. He is thrilled, especially with the Harrison coin - he had one travelling, that is now MIA somewhere in the land of OZ. Many thanks for such a thoughtful mission.
  14. HAPPY that this re-gifting is occurring. I searched my coin collection for the 2nd one, but realised I have already donated it as a mystery prize at an event.

He's busy with Saturday pre Christmas Summer cleanup chores, and is looking forward to opening later when he takes a break! Thanks - this was a bit of a surprise mission to him, he's been busy looking after our NZ caching community, that I thought to sign up on his behalf, send out on his behalf, and surprise him with an incoming mission! Listen out for RadioNut50 New Zealand segment on geotalk podcast Australia! Photos to be posted after both missions received.
  16. That plastic box is the best for caching - has a double seal, and is made down-under! Glad to see packagle 1 - the kiwi themed cache arrived much earlier than expected.
  17. Were you signed up for the card and coin only mission too?
  18. I recall a round tuit coin about 3 years ago - got a few in circulation. Think it was from one of the coin clubs
  19. Just wondering - is this a surprise, or we truly paired up? really no sure I want an answer, as I love surprises.... I know where I've sent my missions too.... but if "paired up", then I will know where my incoming missions are coming from - holds us all accountable! But if random, then lots of anticipation, waiting to find out who sent to us.
  20. I have far too many coins already, so am not applying... but want to say thanks to you for getting more coins out there in such a generous manner. I see new cachers applying, and encourage them to participate. Caching is a great activity, having trackables add value to the experience. Fun, international interest, going beyond borders, opening up new ideas, and maybe some disappointment (10% usually go missing in the first year) GREAT COINTEST!
