I downloaded the waypoint for the cache as well as the nearest place names to EasyGPS and then transferred them to my Venture but all I get is the cryptic waypoint names (GS1,GS2, etc). Is there a way to get the descriptions to show short of modifying each one in EasyGPS. Also, I thought the waypoint names were exclusive to a particular place but I found when I downloaded the nearest place names from 2 different caches I now have 2 waypoints with the same name but different coordinates.

After lurking around these boards for a couple of months, I finally took my kids out for a "treasure hunt". We found the cache and had a great time in the process - hopefully we won't all have poison ivy tomorrow.

What kind of things do you bring to swap?

I am hoping to use "treasure hunts" as a way to get my kids (ages 5 & 7) out hiking this summer. If we stick to the easier caches, does this seem reasonable or are they too young to get it - will the caches seem anti-climatic to them? Also, I am trying to figure out what GPSr to buy - I am considering either a Garmin Etrex or a Magellan 315 paired with a good compass (so they each have something to do) or a Garmin Summit (which includes a compass). Any suggestions?
