  1. Did I miss the "November topic update"? I feel that Adventure Labs have a great future and would like to know how to "qualify" to be a creator? So what are the plans?
  2. Cool project. Thanks for sharing... I am one of those wrestlers who are identified as the rudos (break the rules) faction. I already own a lucha libre mask for several years now but due to a serious match involving a pocket gopher and a horseshoe, I have not competed for a couple of years now. Also not sure if I have $150 disposable income at this time.
  3. Although I know that this is really a part of Snoogans plot to overtake the free world, I have whole heartedly supported his ODS project. I did help at prep events in getting micro seeds into pods, etc. More importantly, whenever I am travelling to another part of the country I specifically look for ODS caches with "familiar names". Last November, while on business in Nashville, I set up my cache route to ensure that I could go to a seedpod named after a caching friend of mine. I was 700 miles from home and still connected to a fellow cacher. The cache owner offered to meet me for coffee and now I have cache friends in Nashville. I think that it is an effective tool to bring a different, more social aspect to traditional caching.
  4. Greetings, my name is Texas Dreamweaver and I just started coin designing recently. Although I do some very basic graphic design in my "day job" ( I edit national tv commercials, music videos and training films), I learned about coin design by winning a contest for the Texas Challenge 2007 geocoin. The coin was received so well that I have had a few people ask me for help with their coins and pathtags. Those who know me know that I am a smart aleck...everything I do is "tongue-in-cheek" and FUN. Having been in the advertising business for over 30 years, I know that my main strength is crafting a design that captures your true caching identity. It will send the message that you want to send. I look forward to hearing from anyone interested. Here is a link for contact info and to view some samples. http://www.geocities.com/geo_txdrmwvr@sbcglobal.net/tdw_designs.html My prices are reasonable since all I really want to do is pay for my caching (gasoline, batteries, roadtrips, etc.). I live both professionally and personally on meeting deadlines; however, if any FTF opportunities pop up within my 20 mile radius, you may experience a short delay.
  5. Here is a third nomination for Geek-Qualizer. Others have mentioned his "boyscout" qualities -- trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, etc. But let's hit the nail on the head. Geocaching is not just a hobby or a fad or a passing fancy for GQ. In fact, there is only one thing in this world that GQ loves more than geocaching. That is his dog, Breeze who he has trained to cache with him. On a recent night cache outing, I watched Breeze led the way on a mile hike taking us straight to the cache. GQ, is about as good a "poster child" for this hobby/sport as I can possible imagine. Oh, and Breeze wants me to add her vote, too.
  6. For basic functionality try "Mac SimpleGPS X" at the following www.macsimplegps.com. I have used it for the last 3 weeks or so and it is simple to install and run.
  7. I read somewhere that there is an offset forumula to modify your coordinates between a cache placed by a Magellan user and hunted by a Garmin user and vice-versa. I am sure that this topic is in the forum somewhere, but since the SEARCH function isn't working.....Can someone please explain the formula and reason for it? Thanks
