  1. Hi I have a Legend cx whose waypoint memory seems to be full. How can I delete all of the waypoints at once so I can sort out and re-send from GSAK? Thanks, Chris
  2. Good idea! Will try deleting and resending now. Maybe the child waypoints have taken it up to 500. 500 seemed a lot when I first started!
  3. I know the legend holds 500 waypoints but I have only 170 caches loaded in GSAK. I have just filtered out 19 for a place I am visiting tomorrow and I can't export them to my gps - the waypoint memory is full. How can it be? How do other cachers manage?
  4. Hi The same thing happened to me last week whilst on holiday, worse luck. I got a new Legend CX, changed the batteries at the prompt then it died on me. Garmin just advised me to return it to the seller which I did. I now have a replacement - by return of post- and am waiting to see if this one lasts any longer.
  5. Card doesn't need to be inserted. Mine works fine with card out. ..and maybe don't hold the power switch for quite as long? Thanks for your help everyone. I have tried connecting to the computer, also downloaded the update but it is dead. It's going to be packed up and sent back tomorrow. I wish I hadn't got rid of my yellow etrex now!
  6. i haven't updated the firmware (only had it a few days). The garmin people suggested it, but i think you have to turn it on in order to update it. Will certainly check to see if the memory card is in right though.....thanks for your help.
  7. Hello I have had my new GPS for a few days now, and yesterday I needed to change the batteries. After changing them it won't turn on at all - it flickers briefly, but nothing else happens. I have now tried loads of different batteries with no joy. I talked to Garmin and they told me how to reset it, but it still doesn't work. Anyone else know what might be wrong with it, or do you think it is dead? thanks!
  8. Thank you so much for your help. I've downloaded my caches and am off on holiday tomorrow. That seems a really good tool for remembering which day is which. I love my legend, so much better then my old yellow etrex1
  9. Hi A stupid question maybe - i've just taken delivery of a new Legend CX and am pleased to see it has a geocaching mode. When I download waypoints from GSAK will they automatically go into the geocache bit of the legend? And not get mixed up with other waypoints I may input? Thanks, Chris
  10. Hi, please can someone help? I have an etrex with which I am quite satisfied so far. A friend asked me about geocaching and showed me his 60CS which he bought a few months ago for his boat and hadn't yet used. I had a look at it with the idea of showing him how to look for a cache. However all I got were roads to follow, not the handy little arrow which I am used to. Is it possible to turn off the road maps? If so, how?
  11. As a long distance walker (LDWA anyone?) bought an etrex on ebay. Seller sent two by mistake and asked me to sell the spare for him which I did at a walking event in Sheringham Norfolk. The chap who bought it said it was for his daughter to go geocaching with. Looked up this strange word on the net and was instantly hooked! I now bore ebveryone by telling them about my latest obsession!
  12. We'd be interested if it's the Thetford area - only 6 miles from home! That is if it's open to all.
