  1. We hid our first one yesterday . . . I forgot the "you've found it, intentionally or not" welcome sheet, so I am going back out this morning to place it and double check the coordinates.
  2. Being a brand new Geocacher (with my kids), we kinda discovered that by accident. We were hunting "Pinehurst DOCS" which is well-hidden, and kept running into trash during our search. We just grabbed a trashbag from our backpack and started filling it up. Since this cache is in a highly travelled area it provided "cover" for hunting the cache. We plan to use that "MO" in all busy muggle-heavy cache sites.
  3. I am a brand new Geocacher. I thought about business cards as well - I am a skydiving instructor and thought I might add a few people to the sport of skydiving that way. After reading the guidelines, my interpretation is that a commercial business card is not appropriate to leave, even if it offers something free. IMHO the general idea of leaving a card is a novel one if it is a generic name/address card or a card specifically designed to leave in caches. John
  4. I did just that - opened an account. Whoever created the website did a great job. I'm looking forward to the release of the NC Geocoins!
  5. I was turned onto Geocaching by a friend who works in an outdoor outfitter in Western North Carolina. Tonight after dark , my 14 year old son, my 11 year old daughter and I went hunting in the neighborhood. My daughter is the proud owner of our first find! This is going to be a ton of fun . . . we plan to find a few more locally this weekend. One questions - is it OK for each of us to take and leave one item each, or should we take and leave one item as a team?
