  1. Has anyone else had problems printing from a .pdf file (5 or 10 logs)? For some reason the cache information at the top of the page will not consistently show up. Thanks.
  2. Has anyone else had a problem with getting the full first page to print when choosing the 5 0r 10 log page in .pdf format? I have had that problem repeatedly for several caches. Thanks.
  3. You can save a maximum of 40 queries. Go to your pocket query management page at http://www.geocaching.com/pocket , review the list, and delete a few that you're unlikely to run again.
  4. A Pocket Query question: I put in a query today for a route. I have only done 5 or 6 of them since January 1. It won't generate the query: Says I have the Maximum number of queries. Is there a limit of so many per month? Is there something wrong with the site right now? Help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  5. I am still having problems trying to upload to Google Earth. This is so frustrating. I have been trying for over a month. I thought there might be "bugs" in the system, but now I figure it is just something that I am doing incorrectly. I found a route from Des Moines to North Platte, which was just perfect. I cannot get it all to work. Help! We are leaving in 2 weeks and I'd like to get some set up. Thanks for any help you can give me.
  6. I had this happen to me once when I had a route longer than 500 miles (this may just be coincidental). I shortened my route and I've never seen the problem you describe again. I have had the same problem. I did the routes on Google Earth and saved them as .kml files and named them. After that I unzipped them. Then I went to the user routes page at geocaching.com and tried to upload them. Nothing happened and the route did not show up. The route is definitely less than 500 miles and does not have any waypoints yet. I did get the pocket queries that I asked for so I know that it works. Haven't done anything with that yet. Any ideas??? Thanks.

  8. Just want you all to know that after several weeks of going back and forth with the Russian Embassy, who thought it might be OK to bring a GPS to Russia, and the US Embassy and Customs that quoted the articles mentioned above, I finally got the definitive word from the US folks in Russia. Just this month the rules changed about taking a GPS and/or cell phones to Russia (We also needed to rent an international phone). It's OK to have them--one just has to declare them upon entrance to Russia. Thanks for all the help. It was nice to have the information from the geocaching forum when I talked to the various agencies.
  9. Contact eagleyes. She has hidden many caches in the Boundary Waters area.
  10. We will be in Russia, Finland, Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Although we do NOT plan to use the GPS in Russia, we will use it in Sweden, especially, when we spend some extra time driving around and visiting. Thanks for the input so far.
  11. Has anyone encountered any difficulties with going through airport security in foreign countries with a GPS? We have taken it through airport security in the States but want to take it along when we go to Russia and Scandinavia in May. I realize it can't be turned on. I do want to take it in the carry-on since we will use it as soon as we land. Thanks.
  12. Finally heard from the cache owner and I have now re-entered my find. It seems he archived some things incorrectly. I have no idea how many other finders had the same problem. Points out why it is good etiquette to inform the finder first. Thanks for all the help.
  13. Cache was GCJZFY in Colorado. Thanks, everybody, for all the replies.
  14. gpscity.com is always my first choice. I have purchased 2 of my GPSr's from them plus the map software and accessories. Sales folks are knowledgeable if you call and the purchase goes out very quickly. I have referred many people to them and all are satisfied.
  15. The answers were correct. I did post a photo but indicated it was a spoiler. Where I come from, the cache owners usually indicate in their descriptions if they will delete spoiler photos. And after so many months?? Give me a break! I agree, there should have been an email first. Thanks.
  16. Tonight I was informed that a find of mine from September, 2004, was deleted. I have emailed the cache owner who has not replied to me. Although it was not a virtual, there were questions to answer. I logged the find in the logbook, answered the questions, emailed the answers to the owner, and logged it on the web site. Now, several months later, without any advance warning and for no apparent reason, he/she chose to delete it. First of all, shouldn't there be some geocachers' etiquette about informing me? I cannot imagine why it was done as I did everything correctly. Any ideas?
  17. Thanks. I'm just going to place her myself in a new cache. I also have one that was sent to me to place by someone from Nebraska (I'm in Minnesota) who had the same thing happen. I'm assuming I can just "grab" her and place her again. Right?? WoodsWoman

    Lost TB

Our group started a TB in May. It has been lost since July. The cacher that has her has logged finds since then. It was an especially cute doll and we think he has kept her or lost her. We have since made a new doll and want to get her traveling. How do I "grab" her and send her on her way again? WoodsWoman
