  1. hello, many thanks again for your responses. I didn't mean my reply to sound critical, i think i expected more positive responses and encouragement although I fully understand the reasons why we cannot place caches around areas that will create problems. I guess I know my own personality and judgements and not being known to any of you personally, you wouldn't know that:) Another 2 very different caches found today added to more experience for me and the family so will keep looking and getting more knowledgable. thanks
  2. Thank you all for the responses, ideas and suggestions, although I think some of the responses were a little 'harsh' and made me feel like this is an activitiy for the 'selected'. Whilst some of the posts are to the point and directive a little more encouragement to ex muggles would be appreciated. I am actually a mature and responsible person, with a family who are trying to find outdoor experiences to get the kids away from gadgets and me a little exercise,we live in the country, follow the country code and have a completed CRB !!! I will admit I didn't think it would be so complicated, for example getting permission from the land owner? whilst I can fully understand in some circumstances this may be neccessary how can you get permission from a farmer on a public footpath with right of way or on unused land. I planned to hide simple caches for families with children not too far away from home so we can maintain and keep it loaded with 'goodies' maybe a rethink is needed or the forum needs to be more open to questions and newbies.
  3. Hi all, this has probably been asked so many times and i'm sure there is a link but I cannot find it. What is the procedure for hiding your own cache? we have seen many good places to hide one, have looked at 8 caches and I think we have the general idea about size and what to put inside. We know it needs to be mainained and plan to put it local we just need to know how to get started? I look forward to response.
