  1. I count JPlus14 as a good caching buddy and have enjoyed his company driving all over this neck of the woods looking under rocks and turning bolts here and there. Sorry but you could not have chosen a more honest person to question his logs. And yup, I am the envious Canuck. Keep them logs a coming JPlus 14 and do let me know next time your in the neighborhood...........
  2. Argus2, not sure about your side of the map but out west we are fortunate to have a company called Spectrum Digital Imaging. They have quite a catalog of digital maps, again I am not sure if they go as far east as you are, which are usable on both platforms. Now if OziExplorer was available for both platforms it would be a perfect world.
  3. SylvrStorm, good point I will do something with it.
  4. Well with some last minute tuning and polishing Hyper Mite is just about ready to go into the trailer. And then it is off to the race start for further testing.
  5. Second time perhaps......
  6. Testing, We control the Vertical.......
  7. Sounds like great fun, will be putting together the winning entry and mailing soon. Am also forwarding a link to a few of my aquaintances to see if they will be interested. Will also volunteer for any grunt jobs that need to be done. Keep me posted.......
  8. Well not sure if this really fits into the Funky category but this pristine picture is of The Prince George Transit (GC740A)cache container. That is what it looked like before being placed, and chewed by a bear or some other disrespectful critter. The Igloo cooler is a testament to ruggedness, it just keeps on going... Before:
  9. PDOP's Sorry if I brought on bad news, I am still trying to confirm his status, but due to the remote cache he was placed in am not able to get there myself at the moment. The cache is GC7787 am going to try again to contact the last cacher and will keep you updated. mitzydog
  10. Well I for one have been trying to track down Southbound who unfortunately somehow made his way north rather than south. I have checked the logs and emailed the last cachers who mentioned in the logs taking a "bug". Not sure if the bug they were talking about was indeed the TB-SB. They were first timers and it seems perhaps they were not sure of what it was etc. Although it had all the paperwork with it. Still looking and wondering.
  11. You might want to get in touch with the owners of these 2 caches who are in the northern portion of the province and might be travelling....GC7787 GC42F0, HTH

  13. Well I tried the post a note idea and unless there is a time lapse till it takes effect it did not seem to work. Will check it in the AM. Thanks for the ideas........
  14. Hi recently had my cache mauled by a bear, noted that the cache was in for repairs. The page showed it was temp disabled. Now we are back up and running how do I get rid of the temp disabled note? TIA
  15. If you happen to be going through Prince George BC, be sure to check as there are about 9 caches in the immediate area and travel bugs and Geocoins do come and go. Cya
  16. So how do I go about getting in touch with Jeremy, Travelling Buzz started in Fire away GC3a62 and was picked up May 20/02, then onto Canada Day cache 2002 where I picked him up Aug 4th. I then attached the hitchiker and activated it as Travelling Buzz. So there is not really a lot to catch up on just be kinda nice if it could happen. Cya
  17. Was wondering if an item started in say one cache then was moved to a second cache, where it was picked up and a travel bug was then attached. Is it possible to somehow show the two distances travelled before the bug was attached as a hitchiker. We are looking at aprox a 800 mi distance.
  18. Well thanks for all the reply's, wouldn't you know it, nothing in about 2 months and 2 since posting this.....patience I guess is what is needed.
  19. Hi there was wondering if there is a limit as to the number of caches that an individual can create. Am able to and enjoy maintaining 4 at the present and would like to start a couple of more. Am also wondering about ending a couple that do not seem to be getting anyone new to them as per my other posting. Look forward to hearing your opinions on this. TIA
  20. Hi there was wondering what the procedure was for dealing with a cache that has not been visited in say 60 days. Should I keep it active in the hope that there might be some visitors still to come. What is the normal time before closing them down, am I just being impatient?
  21. Hey thanks for the confirmation on my suspicions. Believe I just logged a cache that you also visited in Jasper. So I take it you are as satisfied with you II+ as I am with mine....
  22. Hi took just got my new used II+ and have noticed that there seems to be what I would described as a bit of movement in the battery area. This is noticed after certain movements and just feels like the batteries moving around. Was just wondering if anyone else had noticed this and might have a simple remedy for it. The unit works fine and this is more a question of curiousity than anything else. Also noted a big difference from the old II that I had all of which are good. TIA
  23. Well found my mistake/problem RTFM it was a case of not having the correct protocol selected. Seems it should have been set to Garmin to Garmin, once that was selected all was well..........RTFM
  24. Was wondering as we live in Northern BC and there are some remote and seldom visited caches here. If two of us were travelling together, could one drop the bug off and log it then the other pick it up and carry him to the next cash and drop him off. It just seems such a shame to drop him off and have him sit for such a long time. The cache we have in mind has not been logged in a year and we would be the first to log.
  25. Am presently waiting for my GPSII+, thought that I would hookup and configure my GPSII and winxp, plugged into my serial port, ran into the ball mouse problem, and disabled. The serial port will still not allow communications with the GPS, anyone run into this before and if so what am I doing wrong. TIA
