I made this one a few days ago 02-12-2011. It's eucalyptus wood and is 54" long. I left the bark on at the handle then craved the spiral effect leaving some of the bark on as I went down the staff. It came out pretty good.

This is a handmade custom survival kit. It measures approximately 2 ½ inches long and 1 inch round. This kit contains a very accurate liquid filled compass on top and inside the wood I’ve put 5 strike anywhere matches, 20 feet of 6# fishing line, 2 fishing hooks and 2 split shot sinkers. Does anybody know what the 4 squares of the Groundspeak Logo mean or represent? I like the logo, I'm just not sure what it means.

Ahhh GrassHopper,,,,exactly...thats why they can't log it....they aren't PM's....that's one of the things that is wrong in this country...always looking for something free. They know they found it with you....just move on and teach them of the benifits of rules. Have Fun!!!!!

I'm really really really disappointed that I don't have tickets to the Super Bowl too. Can, somebody show me a way to get them? I just might stop watching Football, I'm sooo disappointed! It don't cost that much to become a PM, the bene's are sooo worth it! It'll make you want to keep on caching!

Coat it with Thompson Water Seal, that will help it stay open.

why would you take it upon yourself to take something off a travel bug, the red thingy? did you ask the owner first? i dunno, but if someone decided to "upgrade" my bug and took something off i liked, i would be a bit miffed. a thought, rsg Ahhhh...I am the Owner!!!! Did you not read my post...I said "Well after reading this link the photo on my bug page TB2132A " went from this...where it had the cute little red thing...to this...where I took it off so it wouldn't be snatched.

I've bought old used Camo type clothing (t-shirts, shorts, etc.) at garage sales and used that cloth to camo various types of containers. I use 3M 77 spray adhesive then cut the cloth and apply it to the container. Works pretty good for me. Holds up in the rain too.

It's just common sense man! Just because something is hidden or hanging from a branch in a tree or bush don't mean the "Finder" should tear off bark and rip branches off just to find the micro. Can you spell common sense!

I think it probably depends alot on your local environment. Here is SoCal, we usually don't get alot of rain, however this year is close to a record setter. When I place a cache I try for a more unique fun type of a cache and container. I can probably do that because of our weather here and get away with it. Even with the heavy rains that we've had this winter the cache that Crawil found yesterday is bone dry, in fact when I retireved it today it was raining. I have it right here on the table next to me....I have alittle camo touch up to do.

I have two of them out in the field and both are doing very good. Here and this one. Both are very tuff to spot. Give it a try. I did caulk around where the glass and the rim come together and caulked the light switch too.

I assure you that to drill a hole in a tree even if dead as the add on Ebay says, will raise the eyebrows of alot of Geocachers. I would try to think of a different way to attach it without drilling into the "Dead" tree. Maybe trying to find an existing hole in a tree with like bark. But a good idea nonetheless.
