  1. Because of age, health etc i must delete and remove the cache I own. I will remove the physical cache tomorrow. I do not know how to delete the listing from Ceocache.com. Thanks for any and all help.
  2. I have a Garmin 60Cx. When I get 'close' to a cache what fields should I be displaying on my unit to best get me to ground zero. Thanks for any and all help.
  3. I have not been on this site for a while. If I remember correctly I could do a search for GCs by my home coordinates. By that I mean my coordinates were in my profile and I just had to specify that I wanted to use them. It seems that I now have to enter the coordinates if that is what I want to base the search on. Also I would like to be able to search for Earth Caches only. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any and all help.
  4. Hi! First of all you do not want to post your tracking number in a cache log or show it in a photo. Bad things can happen. You'll want to edit your cache log and remove it. Look on the upper left corner of the bug page and you'll see: Use TB3F3K8 to reference this item. That won't allow people to log it without having found it. I show the bugs are in your hands. Post a Note on the cache page and before you hit submit scroll down to the bottom of the Note and select the bug to be dropped. That should work but if it doesn't let us know. BlueDeuce, Thanks I think I got it now!!
  5. I have placed my first TB in a cache I have. I have activated the TB and met all the other requirements, I Think. I am expecting to see the TB Icon in the listing for my GC but it is not there. Any help will be appreciated. The GC is GC260EW. Thanks.
  6. UTM easting coordinates are referenced to the center line of the zone known as the central meridian. The central meridian is assigned an easting value of 500,000 meters East. Since this 500,000m value is arbitrarily assigned, eastings are sometimes referred to as "false eastings" An easting of zero will never occur, since a 6° wide zone is never more than 674,000 meters wide. Minimum and maximum easting values are: 160,000 mE and 834,000 mE at the equator 465,000 mE and 515,000 mE at 84° N The above was copied from the following website. http://www.maptools.com/UsingUTM/UTMdetails.html My question becomes: If the center meridian is set at 500,000m and a zone is 674,000m wide at the equator then the maximum values at the equator should be 1/2 the width added and subtracted from the 500,000 or 163,000mE and 837,000mE. Why are the values given above 3,000m different than mine? I have not written this to be critical of the above but to correct my understanding of it. Thanks for any and all help.
  7. We have the TomTom XL One. Don't know anything about yours. We are newbies too. We got it before knowing about Geocaching. Have been using it and seem to be doing fine with it. Hope this helps some. We did just order a Hand Held Garmin eTrex Venture HC because it would be more convenient. You were not clear about using your TOMTOM XL for geocaching. Have you been able to use it for that or only for road trips?
  8. Is there a way to use the information on our property survey and put it into MapSource. On the survey I see a location that says Beg Point: D.BK 1430 pg 119. From that point there are lines with lengths and angles but nothing I see that has coordinates of any format. Thanks for any and all help.
  9. I have recently purchased a Garmin 60Cx and Garmin MapSource came with it. I have found the manuals, either typed on electronic, that came with these products to be very poor. Am I alone in this or do others have the same problem" Thanks for any responses.
  10. I have a Garmin 60Cx and am using EasyGPS 2.8.5. I have loaded a track from the GPS into EasyGPS. Is it possible to 1 - View the trackpoints 2 - Delete some of them. Thanks for any and all help.

  14. When I log into Geocaching.com I click on the Remember Me box. Yet the next time I log in I must provide my userid and password again. I am using W XP and IE 7. My cookies setting is set at Med but I cahange it to accept All Cookies and that did not seem to work. Thanks for any help.
  15. Thanks to all for your help. I have managed to 'clear' the track log. Though I am still a bit confused. What is the difference between a track and a track log. I assumed that by deleting the track that would remove everything about it. But as you explained the track log was left behind. Can you calrify? Thanks again.

  17. As most User Manuals are today I find my maanual for this unit very poor. So I will come to the experts. I am new to this so I hope my questions are real or only show my lack of understanding. Either way I appreciate your assistance. How many Waypoints can my unit hold? How many Geocache points can it hold? Are Geocache points just a subset of the Waypoints? How many Tracks can myunit hold? How many track points can a track hold? Is there a maximum number of track points that is spread over the number of tracks? I have done some tracking and created a couple of tracks. I viewed these tracks in MapSource and EasyGPS. I then deleted these tracks from the unit. When I turn the unit on and do Menu, Menu, Tracks iI do not see any thing on the Saved Tracks screen. But if I connect the unit to my PC and then start either EasyGPS or MapSource and ask it to transfer Tracks from the unit to the PC I get copies of the Tracks I thought I deleted. This confuses me. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks for any and all help.
  18. I have a Garmin 60Cx. I have deleted all the Waypoints on it except for a couple of Geocache points. Yet when I hit Mark to store a new waypoint the number it assigns is always 1 higher than the last one used. Why is this? How can I force it to start at 1 again? Thanks for any and all help.
  19. Is there an easy way to search for geocaches using my home coordinates as a base? It seems that I have to go trru several screens to find what I want. Thanks for any and all help.
  20. When I enter my home coordinates in the Geocaching.com site it shows them on the associated map. Yet if I leave the Mark My Home Coordinates page and come back to it What I previously entered is no longer there. Am I doing something wrong? I would appreciate some help with this. Thanks to all.
  21. I have recently started Geocaching. As I am no longer the man I think I am, I now must use hiking poles. I find it very awkward to hold the Gps, Garmin 60Cx, and the poles. I feel there must be others out there who have had this problem. Can you tell me how you resolved it? thanks for the help.
  22. I have loaded Garmin TOPO US and Garmin City Navigator NT into my PC. I used Garmin MapSource to load them. Now that I have these maps on the PC is it possible to access them with EasyGPS? Thanks for the help.
  23. Thanks for clearing up 2 out of 3. I have forwarded the Map Source question to Garmin Support. Thanks again.
  24. I have transferred a route and a track from my Garmin 60Cx to Map Source on my PC. On the Graphic Map in Map Source I see the rroute and the. I want to print thisGraphic Map but when I hit Print all I get is a blank sheet of paper. Is there a display on my Garmin 60Cx that shows the Batter Level? On the top of the Garmin Display there is an icon that says 3D. Is this controllable. It seems to imply that there can be a 2D display. If so how is it controlled?
  25. I have found an option to change the temperature from Celsius > Farenheit > Celsius... This can be done with Menu Menu Setup Enter Units Enter Temperature Enter Farenheit Celsius Enter Quit Being able to do this implies that the temperature is visible somewhere. Yet I am unable to find the location of the Temperature Display. Can anyone shed some light on this? When using Track and the Record Method is set to Auto the Interval can be set to Most Often, More Often, Normal, Less Often or Least Often. These imply a time period. Does anyone have any idea what these time periods are? Thanks for any and all help. I find I am getting more help from this forum than I am from the manual. I hope I become good enough that someday I can help others by providing answers.
