Thanks again Embra, you are my guardian angel, worked like a charm. Thanks JD, the units did not come from Magellan direct. I got two bad Platinum's from an online store, sent both back for full credit, and one bad 210 from circutcity as a gift, and exchanged it for another 210. (A good one I hope)

Help me please ! I have had three bad gps's that i have used with DirectRoute. I now have a good one, i hope, when down loading a region from DR, i have to enter the serial number of the gps. I get a error message saying (YOU HAVE REACHED THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF SUPPORTED GPS UNITS/SD CARD). Does this mean that i need to remove the other serial numbers? If so How? Sorry if discussed before but still can't do a search.

Nope not it, i was able to load maps one at a time, with out it clearing the others. So, is there a way to remove maps one at a time, out of the memory?

Didn't know that bit of info, thanks. Well why i would want to, i have three small DRoute maps loaded now, i wanted to remove one that i dont use, and replace it with a Topo. I only have 22mb's of memory and i am 75% full, not enough left for the Topo. I think I have it just dont select the map i dont want in conversion manager?

Hey, I have read the manual 3 times, and for the life of me can't find how to remove the detailed maps from the memory. Any Sugestions? Without doing a complete, clear all memory.

A buddy of mine just got a 210 for x-mas. He called and said everything was working fine, and then the screen went black. He can tell it powers up because it goes from the off--gray screen to on--black screen. Any idea's out there that might help him. I was thinking about telling him about the (self-test) in the hiddon menu screen, but not sure what it will do.

I have the same problem, i puchases topo 3d yesterday. I emailed magellan, haven't heard back yet. I'll let ya know if i hear anything.

Hey em, yep looks like i don't hav, i went to menu/preferences/alams---no beeper. Thats fine i feel my back light works just as well and less noisey.

Some may already know this but, Goto by Street Route works with the 210. Weeee Only thing is, it doesn't have any beeeping to signal you to turn. So what I did was turn the back light on and set it for 30 sec. and use it to signal the turn. Sorry for my excitement but I thought I would loose this feature with the 210. (Did own a meriplat before it died) Does the 210 have any form of a beep? I Haven't heard any type of beep beep yet.

I do realize that gps's are not right on the money, but what i'm asking about is, on the position screen it show's an accuracy field. In that field i have not seen the estimated calculation better that 16 feet. What effects this estimate? I thought it was the amount of sat's and signal strength. Shouldn't the gps think its better than that, and lie to me?

Just turned in my defective Meriplat for a Explorist 210. My concern is about the accuracy, when I have 10 to 11 and 1 W sat's locked, it still shows accuracy between 16 and 20 feet. Is this normal? Should it get better than this? Has any one with a 210 seen accuracy better than this? I have tried all day and thats the best accuracy it showed, I did see it 30 feet alot.

After owning a Cobra 500 myself, i would have to say trade it in for somthing else for sure. My cobra 500 was junk, it had a very hard time holding sat lock. Maye if i lived in an open field, with no tree's and very very short grass, it would be fine. lol

I had a problem with my meriplat, and returned it back to, Harmany computers, for replacement. I received the new unit today, and it came with a copy of (mapsend Manager). Here is some info about the software. I copied this from the help tab. Launch MapSend Programs This screen allows you to launch any MapSend program by selecting the “Launch” button or by double clicking the MapSend program. If the MapSend program that you would like to run has an “Unlock!” button next to it, you will need to complete a quick unlock process before you can use the program. Manage GPS Files This screen helps you to organise, convert and transfer your data to and from your unit. Transfer Data to Unit enables you to select files available on your computer and transfer them to your GPS unit. Transfer Data to PC enables you to select files on your GPS unit and transfer them to your computer. Convert Data to eXplorist format and Convert Data to Legacy MapSend format Due to enhancements that have been made, the eXplorist uses file formats that are different from those used in legacy MapSend (non-eXplorist compatible) products. Depending on the product used, a conversion may be required. Thanks to all that tried to help, but i think i have a lame duck. lol I just changed batteries and guess what, lost all way points. I'm going to see if seller will let me return the unit to them, maybe just being 20 days, they will. My 315 will serve as backup. Weeeeeee Thanks again folks

Well i tried to use my buddy's card and guess what? The thing is security coded !! So that idea went no where. lol Back to the drawing board.

It's pretty easy to take the unit apart and reseat them if you are out of the warranty period.] Still under warranty, i have only had for two weeks. The unit seems to only do this when the SD card is installed. I reformated using the gps and reloaded a map. Still has a problem. I have borrowed a SD card from a buddy that works fine in his plat, so we will see if my card is the problem, or if my gps is the problem. Maybe i have a too large of a map loaded? Its just inder 16,000 kb or 16mb. But that is what size he say's he runs on his. Any thoughts on this would be helpful. I will go test his card in my gps and let ya know. Wish me luck.

Yes, Enbra, its like i cleared memory. They are still on sd card though. I have a new problem now, i was reloading the firmware and at the end where it restarts it self, it gave me (extreme low batt shutting down). I installed ne battery's just before the reload. Batt indicater shows 3/4 full. Whats happening to me, am i jinxed or what?

Still have problem, rebooted this morning, and lost all waypoints. I'm tring to scan disk, but its taking along time. Its been 30min and just at 40%. Does anyone know how long it should take? And is this going to help me in any way?

Maybe some help on getting gps315 updated. I tried the data cable from my meriplat and it worked. So just find a buddy in your area with any magellan data cable and update away. Hope this helps.
