  1. I wonder if you let one person if that would open the floodgates? OH I realize that, I would have to put it on the cache page that anyone who found it before was welcome to refind it,...as long as they really refound and signed the new log.
  2. I would like to thank everyone for this discussion. I logged into the forums to see if you could log a cache twice because someone posted on one of my caches asking that since it had been moved could it be logged again. I got the answer on COULD it be done and a lot of input on whether or not I SHOULD allow it. I did find the whole Wisconsin event thing pretty unbelievable. Three or four temp caches, no big deal (though right or wrong can still be debated). Fifty temp caches at one event? Must make for a very long/busy event, if these caches are hidden anything like real caches. It is interesting to see that these types of events seem to be the norm there. Just looking at a couple of cacher profiles from there and seeing that there are many of these events that are logged 20-50+ times. It shows that what people see when they start caching tends to be what they take as normal and that is what gets repeated in that area. well that is my 2cents, now to decide if I will allow people to relog my cache that I changed the size, type and camo of container on though I only moved it two feet.
  3. After caching with me, my friend went out and bought a Axim x51 that has a GPS thinking to use it for geocaching as well as fill his PDA needs. However, the software it came with does not allow for coordinate input. I have seen on the forums that people do use this unit to geocache so our question is how? What software does he need? (we know the gps works as he can put in addresses and get driving instructions, he just can't cache with it)
  4. I've passed on a TB whos chain had rusted right through,...I almost lost the tag because it dropped off at the cache site. If your putting the whole thing into a ziploc the chain is less likely to rust. Seen both zip ties and key rings and both are better than the original chain,... your cable idea should work well too. Cheers Ice
  5. Have there been anymore news? Just found out hubby and I will be in Ontario for the 14th and would love to take part in this event, but we are not going to have computer access the week before it while we are travelling. Ice Dragon
  6. So your going to make us work harder are you? I have another series for your list that I found when looking for some caches to take my friends kids on when I am in Ontario. It is the Troll series by walking woody. Thought the kids would like "troll hunting". Maybe some Ontario cachers could comment on the series. (GCQBCE is the waypoint for #4 in the series) Seems to be in the Brantford Dundas area. Ice
  7. Does that mean you don't plan on doing more of the Canada Cup ones, DogBreathCanada? And here I was expecting you would, but I guess you set my expectations pretty high with the Hooked on Phonics Series, which was great by the way (there someone else is tooting your horn for you) I would also like to thank you for bookmarking these series, it has made loading waypoints easier. AND it is helping me plan my up coming trip to Ontario Ice
  8. We got ours at Costco for $299 at the end of Nov. Til then we had been borrowing a sporttrek. We figured the $299 was a great price and liked that we could add maps with the SD cards, admittedly we have not added maps yet, but we will. It can also take an external anntenna if you feel the need for it. It is abit of a battery hog though. Ice
