I had the same problem with my Vista C after I updated the firmware. I will try recalibrating it.

I just got my GPS and I don't have a detailed map I just have some highways I don't have all the tiny streets in big cities.

I have a question about a Garmin Etrex Vista C. Whenever I calculate a route that follows the road, the status bar for the calculation jumps up by 20% sometimes, and other times it increases about 1% a second. Sometimes, once it gets to 100%, I have to wait about 2 minutes before it actually disappears and goes to the map. Does anyone else have this happening and\or noticing it? This is not an extremely important thing, but I've been curious about it for as long as I've has the GPS which is about 6 months.
