  1. You can purchase a low end model for under a hundred bucks. That's what I use, and will continue to use until I run across any problems. I also cheated a couple, myself before I bought mine. Why not borrow one of your buddy's and hit the trail? I've loaned mine out a time or two. Yup. That's MY goat!
  2. quote:How about _you_ get over it? Why is it that _I_ am the one who has to suck it up and accept the nastyness and flamewars and hurt feelings and cache plundering and deleted logs that come with stats, and _you_ get everything you want? Why is it that I???? Look below. Sure there are others that feel your pain, but looks as if YOU do have to suck it up and da da da, since you went ballistic first. But in a previous post by fuzzy: posted September 05, 2003 02:00 PM quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are a lot of us who don't want stats but have given up on wasting time trying to explain the problem with stats to the mindless drones who do want them . Sorry, fuzzy, but sounds like you are the one that went all crappy first. I hate picking on fuzzy, but you are being reiterative and your beef doesn't lean toward the well being of others as much as it does to yourself. US WE I ....... Yup. That's MY goat!
  3. CCDave isnt much help, lol. Here's what you do: Go NOW! Right NOW!!! HURRY!!!! BTW, Cadaver, how much DO you know? You aren't a spy, are you?? Yup. That's MY goat!
  4. quote:Originally posted by Woodsters Outdoors:Ok, I know I've been a stay at home dad for a while now and it's getting to me, but could the pirate be....... Captain Feathersword from "The Wiggles"? Can you see the resemblance? http://www2.gascp.com/music/videos/CaptainFeatherswordFriendlyPirate.jpg Well blow me down! It sure is!! Fruit salad, yummy yummy! Fruit salad, yummy! Yup. That's MY goat!
  5. All who approve or promote the pirate should second guess. All the no-no responses I recall (no link available) about another GC spin-off makes me wonder why some are even considering this acceptable. This could get far worse than you think. Geocaching has some competition here, but very very little. Bad idea on the promotion of Cache Pirate-Excrement of the sea. Yup. That's MY goat!
  6. Oh my goodness!!! Doesn't anyone notice what has happened here? Returning from Criminal's second cache find of the day, he mysteriously stumbled onto a grove of lush green vegetation. With beautiful wide jutting leaves large and similar to the shape of the human hand, clumps of sticky pods fulfilled every limb. Being low on cash and forgetting the exact description of rabbit grass, he remembered that saving money is always a plus. He decides to pick a few of the clusters and proceed home, where he precariously dries them in the microwave and loads one of his favorite Captain Black pipes that he recieved by a mail in offer. Criminal used to smoke a pipe several years ago, but strangely dropped the pipe and started smoking cigarettes. First Pall Mall's, but they got too harsh. Then Salem, but he quickly got dissatisfied with menthol, and switched to Marlboro, since they had those cool commercials with the cowboy in it. These he has been smoking for sixteen years now. With the pipe clenched in the right corner of his mouth Norman Rockwellesque, he logs onto GC.com to post his finds, and then to thumb through the forums. With each puff of the "tobacco", Criminal reminisces of the days he smoked a pipe, transferring the smoke from his mouth, occasionally inhaling a small percentage. Several minutes pass, and the chamber has succumbed to mainly ashes, so Criminal packs it full again. Typing and logging, logging and typing, he has to refill it once more. Little does Criminal know, he has now been relinquished by the new and somewhat strange motivation that prompted him to post such a lovely topic. He enjoys the company here at Geocaching, especially the forums, his new utopia. A feel good queasiness filled his body as he just remembered he didn't have to buy the $3 Marlboros, and what a great deal he has found on his new and free tobacco. He doesn't need the GPSr to return to his favorite cache location, he knows EXACTLY where that beautiful place is. It is expected that Criminal will frequent this cache for many years to come, and always put something REALLY nice in the cache each and every visit. ALL BECAUSE OF GEOCACHING. Man, this is a beautiful site. BTW... Check out his two "found it" logs! They are a riot!!! Yup. That's MY goat!
  7. Yeah, I get your point, Xitron. I used to get aggravated at the Gods and the bashing, too. Didn't realize I was acting in the same manner until now. Now that's a $hitty feeling! Anyway, I do trade up. Oh yeah! I trade mining stickers. Hey! You don't like peeps who trade stickers! I think such a sticker hater would at least like a couple of them. Yup. That's MY goat!
  8. quote:Originally posted by Xitron:Well just one final thought before I head to bed for the night, if you leave geo junk you suk. Thats the bottom line! I have now changed the label under my avatar. I guess I suk for judging prematurely. Surely I'm not the only one. P.S. All you cachers that left all that junk to ruin Xitron after 20 finds...Shame on you!! YOU SUK! I'm through, Xitron, as my flame is down to less than an inch. Have fun caching, and I'll not bully you anymore, as I AM the bad guy it seems. Yup. That's MY goat!
  9. quote:Originally posted by Xitron:but I really have a problem with peeps who leave junk for good stuff. Yea you know who you are. If you don't have anything good to trade then don't lol O.K. So out of 22 finds and including this post, YOU know who they are, so please inform us who they were and what junk they left. Yup. That's MY goat!
  10. quote:Originally posted by Xitron:I have seen alot of caches where interesting things were replaced with McDonalds rejects and other junk no one would ever want. I've gotta do this: quote:forum good guy posted September 01, 2003 10:47 PM quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Originally posted by opey one: Sorry sorry sorry.... For what it's worth, I only have sixty some finds and I recall only ONE cache that contained a trivial amount of "junk" that some may mention. It's hard to believe that the ratio of junk to good items can be that high considering this is in relation to just twenty finds. Must be some poor cachers in that area. Too bad. http://img.Groundspeak.com/user/48511_5100.JPG Green acres is the place to be..... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Actually, I am getting a flame rising here. With the thread speaking "What is said and what is really meant" or to that fashion: I am saying Xitron is judging prematurely on the finds that contain "junk." What I mean is non forum cachers would be pi$$ed that you claim they leave junk. Give me some examples, Xitron. Surely you can distinguish which cacher left the junk and one who did not. Bash them here on the forums, where it is much deserving. Really, to the newbies: I am a newbie. I am not holding an elitist attitude whatsoever, but with twenty finds, I would still be happy regardless of what junk was left. WHAT I REALLY MEAN You really mean to tell that after just twenty finds that you are complaining about the junk left behind? C'mon! Surely to God you haven't been ruined that quick. **This post gives merit for those previous cache finders who left all that crap. Please post now.** I'm sorry Xitron, but I do not take the bait. Sure, legit concerns I can buy, but I cannot see why you are overwhelmed with junk happy caches that make you complain when you have only 20 some finds. Do NOT bash! I am not elitist, whatsoever, nor a geocop, but what gives? I have taken this into consideration fully. What bites me is we all take in consideration of the newbies and such....Yup, I'm new too. Trying to set a good example for future cachers.... And get someone with fewer (no elitist attitude) finds (twenty some).... to complain about junk.... What kind of impression does that leave? Your local cachers must not frequent the forums... Cause I'd give them a switch, too, for all that junk they leave! Oops! I'm under the impression they leave this garbage. Sorry! In this respect, they're typical people. Just wait until this thread locks down because "guns have nothing to do with geocaching." -------------------- You have the right to defend yourself, even when geocaching! Hey, mckee, that was what I was trying to say. You had to go one step further, didn't you! Well, I will take the backseat then. Green acres is the place to be.....
  17. Good point, Cooter. I'm afraid you might get Markwelled to death with the GC/Hunter squabbles, though. I'm not going to do that. I'm more along the lines of actual hunting based apparel that simply contains the GC logo and such. Sure, you can buy the patches at the store, and put them on your own camo "garb", but to beef up the income and patronage at the GC store, offering camo goods would be a plus IMHO. Yes, offer a blaze orange line, too, but in the frequency of caching and hunting, I wear a blaze orange vest when the two intermingle. Green acres is the place to be.....

See the happy moron He doesn't give a da** I wish I were a moron My God, perhaps I am Author Unkown That is the best I have heard in a while. Cooter has definately hit the nail on the head. We may tend to differ a LOT here on the forums, but all in all-- this statement rings SO TRUE. Green acres is the place to be.....
  19. How about offering a line of camo shirts, hats and jackets with the GC.com logo. I am partial with camo (advantage timber) and other types as well. I almost always hunt caches while I'm outfitted in camo. It's also fun when I cache with a group. I quickly run ahead and hide, then let the others pass by... You know the outcome. Figured I'd ask anyway... dumb or not, it's worth a shot. Green acres is the place to be.....
  20. Way to go Team 360! Your consolation prize will be sent out shortly! *That is an inside joke* Green acres is the place to be.....

  22. quote:Originally posted by Xitron: I like caching because it gets me out and I get to see new places ...Then why the rant about what was left in the cache??? I will adjust my first statement a bit. No I was not with you on your finds and did NOT physically see you pour out all of that junk. Too bad that you have cachers in your area leaving all that trash (the broken toys and all). If anything, they should be the ones criticizing you instead of me. I know I would get nasty if someone claimed I left junk in the cache. Sorry for the toe step, Xitron! Green acres is the place to be.....
  23. I guess Xitron absolutely goes ape $hit when he passes a yard sale or flea market. I believe we all know not to trade junk for the spendy items, huh? **I return with an edit** I really couldn't help it, but I had to do a little research on WHAT has got Xitron all flamed about the crappy trades. Upon looking at the 20 some finds, I couldn't really see what junk previous cachers left. Seems like there were decent trade items left before Xitrons finds. Hmm.... Then where DID Xitron get rubbed the wrong way? Beats me. Green acres is the place to be..... [This message was edited by opey one on August 31, 2003 at 07:50 AM.]
  24. You know, when I was first introduced to Geocaching, I couldn't wait to become a "charter". That way, my status would be uplifted. Wow! Great! And... I did NOT have the funds at the time, so my brother actually paid my membership for me. Yup, I am a SPONGE. What kind of sticker do I recieve for that one? Really though, it doesn't matter if you are a paying member or not, since we all share several values that relate to geocaching. Geocachers are the heart and soul of this sport, and what comes around goes around. Non paying members surely will add to the sport one way or another whether it is thirty bucks, a killer trade item or a super CITO. Give 'em a break...Sheesh! Green acres is the place to be.....
