  1. LOL, they really don't get it eh? A lot of my friends would probably say the same thing ( and have )
  2. 2 or 3 years ago,the son of a friend of mine showed us a cache hidden in a place we like to picnic frequently. Didn't think much about it at the time ( the old " must be a silly kids game " thing. ) Life went on... Then my DH ( dear husband ) bought me an iphone this past spring, after a bad health scare I had. Goofing with it, I found an app on it which I ended up buying. Curiosity led me here to Geocaching.com. I found out we live live in a "cache haven " Became a premimum member, and the rest is history. Due to work and family constraints, I'll never be a power cacher, but just to get out it in the woods again ( used to backpack a lot BC before children ) has been incredible. Have even revisited old haunts I hung out as a teenager ( for very different reasons ) Oh and the hubby bought me a Garmin Dakota 20 for my birthday last month. Best.gift.ever! I've done more caching in the months where I normally hibernate indoors. My body thanks me now and my mind as well.......
  3. I'm glad this was brought up. I have this TB that I'm planning on releasing once I hide my first cache. http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=3276133 So obviously I think it's a idea. Good luck!
  4. Terrakan78, That's exactly what is says on it.. Little Rhody 2008 on the front, Track this qhahog and # on the back. It is a neat little mystery, can't wait to see how this might turn out...... Thanks too for your help, it's been a lot of fun so far Sue
  5. Hi Evil Tree Thanks for responding, The coin is exactly the same, except the pic shown doesn't have the rest of the code past RI like the actual coin. The tag with the code shown on their log is a handwritten # wrapped in plastic with it. I like your idea of contacting the owner, still a newbie here and learning the ropes. I appreciate your helpful suggestion... think that's where I'll run from here. You guys rock! Thanks, Sue
  6. Hi all, I stumbled upon an odd situation today. Found a travel bug at GC389W8. Grabbed it, and upon coming home to try and log it. Then it got weird. I didn't see the code on back of the coin. It had an accompanying tag in plastic, which I looked up first. Turned this up.... http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?tracker=TB2BEEX . It's been missing for several years now. Once I checked that against the number on the back of the coin, they did not match. ( Needed my reading glasses at home to see the itty bitty # on that bugger ) The number on the coin is not even registered here. I'm not sure what to do with it now. Neither # was even shown on the cache page as a trackable being left there...... Any suggestions??? Sue
  7. Hi all, I just started Geocaching this past summer, been a member here for a few months, but haven't posted until today. It's great to get back out into the woods ( used to be an avid backpacker until kids, work etc derailed me ) Just wish the hubby and kids were more into it but hey, it is what it is. I'm lucky enough to live in an area with great caches to find. It's been a ton of fun!
  8. Guess I haven't been caching long enough to run into some of those works of art yet. Thank goodness, my tetnus shot isn't up to date.
