  1. Cant see why you can't cache. As I understand the Russians recently completed-and made public- the full GLONASS system. Pretty much anther set(24 or so) of GPS satellites, and the president insisted they be made available for public use. I have heard that some new Garmin units that can track both GPS and GLONASS have almost no time searching for satellites. I doubt if Russia was that worried they would make their billion dollar system accessible to anyone who wants it.
  2. We all have the same chance at being FTF. You as a premium member can get new caches sent to your phone, I can't. My choice when I don't pay the $30. We have one person here who is FTF 80% of the time. It just makes us appreciate out own even more. And while I'm at it, doesn't the fact that you want the FTF's make you just as bad as the "FTF hound" I'm happy just finding a cache or two when I go out, after all isn't that what is called-geocaching, not racing?
  3. I want to make a cache that you need to rappel down to. I'm thinking bright colors like neon pink and safety orange on an ammo can, just to tease whoever is looking for it. The only thing is I don't think there are any "extreme" caches around here. Is it a good idea or is it too far?
  4. I use gmail, and after my second week on geocaching.com any emails from them got sent to spam.
  5. Invest in a pair of "search gloves" They are thinner leather gloves that the police use, thin enough to handle and feel normally, but enough protection from an accidental brush of a blade or bump of a needle. And for bites...Benadryl. Take it if your neck/mouth/throat is stung and develops a rash or swelling. I have seen it first hand take down swelling that was choking someone. Works faster than anything the hospital gives.
  6. Two writing sticks I always have on me are an erasable marker, and the liquid pencil from sharpie. Its just like a pen, but erasable and you can write on greasy/wet paper.
