  1. Problem was noted earlier. Problem with HTMLtidy. Oh OK.. sorry. How about this??.. Caches seem to have no break between the short and long description. The long description simply begins at the end of the short.
  2. Archived caches, while still displayed with a strikethru line thru the name, no longer have the familiar red color.
  3. OK self.. calm down - its all the name of progress. It'll take shape as people offer constructive criticism & the developers have time to deal with it all. 1. Overall - the common feedback already submitted by many about lots of white space is my first impression too. 2. Regarding the Your profile pages.. the header of the (Mine) sections, changes to (Mine), then back again to (Yours). And then when I click (Mine) under trackables - all the header links are not available. When rifling from left to right, as if navigasting thru tabbed pages, the "Trackable Items (Yours)" provides no such links. Seems like it should. e.g. Quick View | Watchlist | Geocaches (Yours) | Trackable Items (Yours) 3. Cosmetic feedback.. On the log entry page, the "Log Type" pull-down is huge; not sure if this is by design or a candidate for a little tweaking. 4. The "Your Friends" page is really ugly now. I feel that some rule on box size should force all to be the same size. It seems as though some user-defined variable is dictating the size/shape of the whole layout. 5. The "Geocoins Near Your Home Location" maps still, after all these years, seems to be non-functional (or maybe I just don't get it). That's all I have time for now.. keep up the good work!
  4. Hi SnowBird690.. If I were taking a mini caching vacation, I'd do my best to limit the time I spend behind the wheel getting to my destination territory; especially in your case (to make it from the town identified on your profile page as home - Holbrook, NY, to just the Hudson River, you're already using up nearly half of your budgeted 150 mile range). So perhaps it would be a good idea to aim at something a bit closer to the NYC Hudson River crossings - such as the South Mountain Reservation - or its neighbor a few miles away, the Watchung Reservation.. both located in the vicinity of Summit, NJ. Both places offer nice views - a wide variety of terrain to choose from - as well as a fairly high concentration of caches of all kinds. Lots of fun cache series out there too - if you care to challenge yourself and follow a themed group of caches. Lots of easy stuff close to one another too - if what you're after is a sort of "numbers run".
  5. Look like you had a fun trip! Great write-up - THANKS!
  6. This is remarkable.. it was less than 3 months since he hit his 18,000th cache find! The congratulatory post I wrote is on the top of this page.. only 17 post ago. So here goes another pat on the back to the most prolific cacher I have ever met! Bravo Dave w/o id for making your # 19,000 milestone find on December 7, 2009 at "For GeoMoxy"! Your next one's gonna be a real biggie.. looking forward to seeing when you bag #20k!
  7. BRAVO !!! I wish my job was "full-time Geocacher"; that IMSpider sure has the life! Now its on to the next thousand days Spider.. Keep on cachin'!
  8. The number of Geocaching organizations scattered throughout the Mid-Atlantic (previously known as the "Northeast") region continues to grow & grow!! I thought that it would be helpful to see how they are distributed geographically.. so I created a new My Maps on Google depicting all those listed in this forum topic and I'm placing the link to it here for all to enjoy! 9. Its a pet peeve - and very minor.. but if there's a way to eliminate the unnecessary line wrapping as described in this other post (see below) then I think it would be nice: The TEXT WRAPPING was addressed a couple days after I placed the above entry into the forum - but now I can see that it is happening again.. I don't know what causes it.. but I'd prefer to not see the wrapping. Is this something that I can control?, or is it an indication of things changing on the website? Does anyone know??..

  11. At one point I saw the number of watchers on GCXXXX peak out over 550! Its been steadily dropping.. which - maybe - means that the cause of it has been addressed. In case it keeps dropping, I took a screenshot to save its current 535 for posterity! .... Ref. http://coord.info/GCXXXX
  12. It would be neat to win a ready-made ammo can Geocache! Especially if its comin' from Packanack!!! Heck.. count me in. I predict YES by 56% What are the odds makers in Vegas predicting?!
  13. The new GPS info that they recently added to the GC.com website includes product reviews - and there are some people who have provided feedback about the use of this model Magellan for Geocaching. Here's the link: http://www.geocaching.com/reviews/gps_magellan_map-410 If you need advice.. then perhaps some of the people who entered product reviews would also be willing to help you use the unit. This goes all the way back to February - so who knows, maybe by now you've hit the lottery & purchased a brand-new top-of-the-line unit & no longer in need of a really really old & cheap unit like this one. Good luck!
  14. Cool.. it looks like things are gradually returning to normal.
  15. I noticed this also.. The Catskill State Park is still shown - however it is represented by only a tiny block of land which is but a small fraction of the actual Catskills. Its gotta be some sort of glitch.. Link to map of park boundry
