If I were to find a cache that contained Wiccan, Neo-Natzi, etc. stuff in it, I would most likely trade one of my Christian items for it.

Yeah! Those dadgum Wiccans and all their hate speech! The whole lot should be burned at the stake!! icon_razz.gif

  2. /me has seen Harrald's "group hugs" and shuffles discreetly over to the other side of the room.

El Diablo and others, please do come visit chat. I like to think of it as a caching cafe that fills up on Monday evenings for Open Mic. If someone says something that offends you, you can certainly leave. OR, you can pipe up and say "Yo! Schmuck! What's that all about??"

Usually you will find that the typed conversation doesn't convey all the nuances of one's idea and the misunderstanding can be cleared up.

Or you'll find you're talking to fuzzy, who really is a schmuck.

  3. When caching with a group, Gallant discreetly moves away from the cache after he's spotted it, giving everyone a chance to find it on their own.

Goofus grabs the cache and spikes it in front of everyone, yelling "BOO-HAAAAAAAAA!" and doing his favorite cache dance.

  4. My two cents:

I like the idea of a calendar.

The photos should have cachers in them (makes the pictures more interesting than just nature shots).

gc.com should keep the money. We'll never find a charity we can all agree on and from what I hear, gc.com could use the funds.

  5. Thanks everyone!!

I had a great time on #100 and the 99 leading up to it (or is it the 100 leading up to it? Thanks again, guys! icon_wink.gif)!

I can't wait to see the cache I inspired: should I be nervous???

Must there be a King of PA Geocaching? Can't I just have a jester?

And an especial thanks to all the owners of the caches I found. Thanks for making the effort and creating worthwhile caches!

By listing the sign as a virtual cache, maybe someone driving past will stop for nothing more than to get a quick find and an extra smiley face on their page. But in the meantime, they might actually READ the sign and learn something. Isn't there a unique value in THAT? Isn't that the REAL prize of a virtual cache?

In my case: no. When I'm on a cache hunt the only thing I'm focused on is the cache. If it's a virtual (which I rarely do), I just look for the info I need and move on.

And just so you know my bias, I've never been able to figure out the charm of virtuals. They usually seem like tests to me...

You will be the Queen of PA Geocaching if you can find stage #2 of Polly.

    Hm. I like that.

See, I've roped Ce'Nedra and Salvelinus into this quest and 'linus ALWAYS finds the cache first. However, if he knows he will be crowned queen, that might make him back off enough to let Ce'Nedra and I have a chance at it...

  8. Actually, I'm now considering Polly Takes the Plunge... or Heart Attack at Sunrise. I want an honest-to-goodness work out for this one.

I'll keep looking. Pretty sure I'm heading west for this!

  9. Thanks for the head's up, QM. I've contacted PM and I'm disappointed to say it's actually only a 3/3. I understand the whole fibbing thing, but I didn't think it would apply to the rating without some mention in the cache description...

    SO!

I spent $17 on a camp site for nothing!

    Back to the drawing board...

  10. My 100th is coming up and I want a good cache to celebrate it.

What I'm looking for is either a hike or a bike of a couple/few hours with a challenging find at the end. Something along the lines of a 3+/3+.

Yes, I'm using PQ and Watcher to sort through PA caches (yes, it needs to be a PA cache) but sometimes the stars given don't match the cache.

    Any suggestions?

  11. West of Washington is the Pacific Ocean...

Oh! Did you mean Washington, DC?? icon_wink.gif

(Former Washingtonian. Our state slogan is "If we meant DC, we would have said DC.")

    Good luck!

Yet another reason to despise That Boy & His Creator: they brought into common usage a stupid word like that.

I prefer to refer to non-cachers as "infidels." Or, "the unenlightened."
