  1. This looks like the best so far. We are at 4.5 miles
  2. Now that is service...... you did good.
  3. Must be some serious software "smoke" coming from Signal headquarters...... White and Green Jeeps are now there and i am sure the Yellow one will soon follow. Congrats
  4. On the My Accounts Page I have jeeps in "My Inventory" and the icons for them are showing the small box with a red x in the middle. This usually indicates a missing link. The other icons for TB's and coins are working OK.
  5. It also shows up on events that have Jeeps and coins. SUGGESTION !!! I relalize that Icon space is limited. Therefore I propose that instead a different colored jeeps that you go to a generic Jeep like you do with the coins. This could be a color that is not used like a Blue jeep. This would designate more than one Jeep.
  6. One just went up on ebay
  7. Probably the same database issues that are effecting the Civil War Geocoins, as well as several others. They are working on it. I just checked mine and the icon is now there.
  8. You had me for a min. I thought I had made a mistake. Had to do some quick Google searching. Here is the history. The notched dog tag was used in WWII through 1964 from then on is like the one shown here. I got my dogtags in 1962 so they had the notch. Since this shape and the POW-MIA logo began during the Viet Nam era through today I think I will leave it as it is. It does represent all of those that have served. This got me thinking of a gruesome rumor about purpose of the notch in the dog tag. So I looked around. From Snopes: One of the more common myths involves the reason for the notch on the tag issued between 1941 and the early 1970's. Battlefield rumor held that the notched end of the tag was placed between the front teeth of battlefield casualties to hold the jaws in place. No official record of American soldiers being issued these instructions exists; the only purpose of "the notch" was to hold the blank tag in place on the embossing machine. The machine used at this time doesn't require a notch to hold the blank in place, hence, today's tags are smooth on all sides. Thanks Eartha. That was the rumor when I was in the service but it never made sence. Finally an answer 36 years later.
  9. Both the GW4 coin and the Volunteer coin activated perfectly.... worth the wait. Thanks

  11. Yes there is a hole. The small circle on the edge is the hole. I cut off the graphic showing it was a hole. As an additional point. The logos are recessed in the ring of raised metal around them. That side will be epoxyed (sp?) so the colors will remain bright.
  12. You all are correct. The head profile and guard tower is the logo for the POW-MIA group and is displayed on anything that has to do with the POW-MIA cause. However, in my research, this is the only one that is in the shape of a Dog Tag. Those that are either missing or perished did not wear a coin, they wore a dog tag. That is the reasoning behind the shape. Everyone in the service is, usually, very proud of their branch of service. That is why the colors are displayed instead of just raised metal. There are a lot of coins that have the Groundspeak logo on them and they sell. It is not the logo that counts but what the logo is wrapped with or around. Yes this is expensive to build and will not be in everyone collection. But those that have one will have one that is truely, in my humble opinion, special. thanks for your comments.
  13. Ok this is my first rodeo involved in making a coin. So be easy with the rookie. I have a passion for this coin subject. Most are very personal. The primary reason is that I have 99 shipmates that were lost at sea on 28 May 1968 onboard the USS Scorpion SSN-589. I had served on the Scorpion with over half of those that were lost. The front side is meant to honor all those that have not come home. The back side is to honor the various services that they served in. A very respected suggestion was to make this a personal coin, but I just can not make this one personal. I will have others later that will be more personal. SO OK..... now what do you think. The coin is 2.25" long and thick. By the way the artwork is at the minter for graphic workup. Needless to say with all the artwork this will not be an inexpensive coin. But if no one likes it I will have a closet full of dogtags.
  14. I have just traded for A Delaware Geocoin and a Great Smoky Mountain Geoquest coins and can not find activation codes. Any hints where I might find? Delaware should be on the coin pouch, Great Smokey Mtn Geoquest is at coincodes.com Should be in pouch is hope for answer. The current answer is to contact MikeOtt52@aol.com. He made the coin and has the activation codes.
  15. [quote I still have two Deleware coins that I traded for which I do not have activation codes for ..... one day...... I have just traded for A Delaware Geocoin and a Great Smoky Mountain Geoquest coins and can not find activation codes. Any hints where I might find?
  16. This is all about the building and not the court inside. I want it to be so that someone at any time of the day can log the building itself.
  17. That would work ok. Just so long as the name of the building contrained the word "Courthouse". The description of the courthouse could then say which Courts sat in the building. I know that here you can have both district and local courts in the same building.
  18. Here in Texas they are offically called a Sub Courthouse. Larger populated counties may have several that are located across the county in high density population areas. I believe this should be limited to just buildings that have the word Courthouse in the offical title of the building.
  19. That would work... we could add types as they became obvious. Initially there would be CURRENT, FORMER, SUB COURT, MISC. Also the area would be either County/Parish.
  20. That is good also. Here in Texas we also have subcourthouses. Mainly for License plates, JP court, etc. This would also be a sub category.
  21. There are thousands of courthouses in this country and some very lovely ones here in Texas. A subcategory would be courthouses of each state.
