  1. One thing I see is that under MY CACHE page, the Benchmarks Found list has benchmarks that I could not locate also listed. Could we have an icon that distinguishes found/unfound benchmarks like the smilies and frowns that are shown for the geocaches that are found or not found? Just a suggestion. icon_smile.gif

  3. I do all my own lamination with 2 inch wide clear tape. Lay your item-to-be-laminated down on a clean surface and cover it with the tape, overlapping it a bit with each strip. Now, once a side is completely covered, flip it over and do the same thing again. Trim the taped edges leaving enough all around to seal your job well and voila, you have a cheaply done lamination. I use this for my cache notes as well as maps I carry in the field and it works great.

  4. Jeremy -

Dang it! icon_wink.gif You beat me to it. I did a search on just about every coffee related term I could think of but came up empty. That's o.k. though. There are a lot of coffee drinkers out there who are always looking for an excuse to drink a bit more caffiene.

Hope one of your monks makes it up to Alaska someday. I'll treat him to a Kaladi or Jitters local espresso. icon_smile.gif

  6. That is a tough one and your bug may be there for a while. But I do have to take issue with the methods available to get there. In the winter, snow machines and or dog sleds are certainly a possibility.

Good luck with your bug. Hope it doesn't sit there too long. icon_smile.gif

  8. Found this benchmark yesterday.

    BLMBenchmark.jpg

I kind of remembered this benchmark being here from a previous visit to this mountain top.

    BLMBenchmarkBird.jpg

You can see it's location in the second image. It is set near the peak of Bird Ridge (lower left hand corner). The benchmark reads 'Dept. of the Interior - Bureau of Land Management'. I knew there were Corps of Engineer benchmarks, but didn't know about these.

So, I guess there is yet another database of benchmarks out there for us to hunt up. Is there an official list of these available to us?
