I have a Camelback blowfish, Then I found out that Outdoors products makes one for less then half of what I paid. Check em out at Walmart.

Rarely does anyone post their GPSr model on the log. I like reading what type of unit was used to find a cache. Could we all include this info on logs in the feature. What are your thoughts on this..

Check your systems operating version, Just because its new does not mean its up to date. You can load version 3.15 which is the latest. Go to the magellan update page. Ranz is right, get the combo cord..Have fun....N.T.

A few days later I bought a new Mag 315 for 115.00 on sale/rebate, just to hold me until I get my Rino 120 that I preordered from TvNav. At the time the Venture was priced in my range. I was going to sell the Mag 315 when I got the Rino, but I like it alot and will keep it for backup/loaner

It's the idiot owners I despise. Dogs must always be in the owners immediate control. I always travel with my Spetnaz shovel in my pack in case I need to save my skin.

If you can't get access to one I suggest you buy a decent compass and a topo map of the area you'll be in. Thats all you should need for now and you can always use a compass when you get your GPSr.

My brother and I would cache c-rations then later MREs in the national forest in far in places so that when we ventured in during the late hunting season we would map out the coords to the hiden cache. It was fun to relocate these after a snow fall. We would each share the written coords to our hiding spots. Now we can fall back on this if we feel like being real men, but the GPSr is alot of fun too..

I use it to see where my ole lady goes when she's out with the girls, I set turn "track on" and hide it in the car when she comes home I know where she's been.

When I get to the area and I know that the cache is a well hiddened one I'll stop looking at the gps I'll only recheck if in doubt. I'll start scanning the ground for any disturbance (read tracks) I'll check the last found date to see how old a human track will be. I never look at the cheat notes, although I may cheat by letting my hound sniff out a hard one. Works for me..

I'm going to start one that is three miles inside the national forest, it will have a cash prize for the FTF and offer an MRE and water also better trade items required to keep it going. It will not have any cheat clues although after awhile the spoilers might offer some. They will come just because its there.
