  1. I have had 2 requests and they sort of scared me too. I cache with 3 little kids (my husband doesn't cache) and have no desire to meet and cache with a random guy from the internet. I have refered both to a local caching message board where they might find another guy to cache with. They left me alone after that.
  2. City of Angels that was one of my favorite caches. We spent the day exploring a fantastic cemetary and even spent an hour in President Garfield's tomb. I had very mixed feelings before this one-- but my kids understood showing respect for the dead. It was agreat day and a great history lesson. but this cemetary offers tours all year-- they really encourage visitors. On fathers day the tour this year was of sports figures burial sites, they also offer geology tours, daffidol days, and many more. tours offered at this cemetary EDITTED to add links
  3. none around? No events? I am hoping my sister will just throw it in a box and mail it to me in Ohio. I could put it back in the original cache.
  4. My sister came to visit me in Ohio, I taught her kids how to cache and they were fired up and ready to start caching back home in CA. They found 7 caches with me and took (against my better judgement) a TB out of the final cache of the week. Well, now they have been back in CA for 3 weeks with no GPS purchase in sight. Could someone direct me to a cache that she could find with simple directions to get this poor TB back into the game? thank you
  5. reading this thread makes me feel good about my low count and honest DNFs.
  6. I have an losing things phobia. I check for my car keys about 1234 times while out hiking (theya re hooked inside a zipped pocket, with a spare in another zipped pocket. And after leaving my GPS in a cache once (realizing it about 20 steps away) I am constantly checking for my GPS!
  7. I am female, and my husband thinks this sport is a bit bizzare and hasn't come with me and kids yet. I do think there are more males, but there are females around.
  8. my 9 yr old daughter has much better geosense then me. I will still be digging through a pile of sticks 45 feet away and she is opening the log. My 7 yr old son is very into it-- he loves the swag. My 5 yr old whines everytime he sees the GPSr come out. He claims to HATE it. But once we arein the woods he has fun, as long as I remember to stop for 10 and let him throw stone into the creek.
  9. I am hiding my 3 kids easter baskets in the house. On thie Easter table will be the GPSr. They will have to hunt down thier own cache (a hidden plastic egg some where on our 3 acres) a slip of paper in the the egg will tell them where their basket is hidden.
  10. eeeeekkkkk umm, you "fooling around" made my feet sweaty just to see the picture!
  11. but i just heard back from the owner and he is fixing it
  12. I don't know I am right but I figured it out enough to realize I didn't want to hunt for a cache because the cooridinates were screwy.
