  1. bigFOOT by footTRAX, GCPZHM, went unfound for 272 days in South Florida. It was attempted by several, including me. I was eventually part of a team of three that completed it for the FTF. It hasn't been found since then. Go read some of the stories there! GM
  2. I tried real hard to maintain a 10% ratio for a very long time. I was good until about a year ago, when I seemed to go on a finding spree for several months. I'm trying to catch back up, (currently at 8.6%, 141/1638) but need 23 more hides without a find to get back to 10%. It becomes a burden. If you go out and find 40 or 50, you can't help thinking in the back of your mind, "Now I need to add 4 or 5 more to my hide list! But if everyone is out "FINDING" and not many are "HIDING", pretty soon we'd all need a new hobby. GM
  3. There are 155 of us with 100 or more hides. King Boreas is TOPS with OVER 1,200 HIDES! http://www.zinnware.com/HighAdv/Geocaching...p;Ordering=DESC GM
  4. One thing you could do is upload the pictures to an old archived cache of yours. I sometimes do this if I want to use a picture as background or a text image, but don't want a reference to it on that cache page. Or sign up for one of the on-line photo sites like http://www.flickr.com or http://www.shutterfly.com/. GM
  5. Looks to me like AB and FG are probably "GIVENS", unless you live near a Major Confluence intersection??? GM
  6. Here's my animal story from my log of Bolton Notch Lookout, GC5C9B: May 27, 2002 by Gator Man (1638 found) Mission aborted! I was about 40 yards up the trail, when I came upon a wild turkey sitting in the path. I stood very still, expecting it to turn and run, but instead, it slowly got up and started straight for me. Seems I had come across mom and a brood of chicks. She wasn't very pleased with me and intended to let me know. Good thing I always carry a walking stick with me, or it would have been ugly. She circled and parried with me, looking for an opening as I headed back down the trail. She was very determined, and kept after me WAAAYYY longer than I thought necessary, in fact she escorted me almost all the way back to the car. There you have it, defeated by a turkey. I'll try again in a couple of months when the little turklets are grown.
  7. Most in a day for me is, I think, 63, found from 7:00 AM to 8:30 PM. I was out with one of the very top cachers, and it was a BAD day for him. He wanted 100+ caches for the day. LEAST for a day is ZERO (lots of days with no caching). Average caches per day since day one, (5 years ago) is 0.9 caches per day. GM
  8. WOW!!! I'm in the top 1/2 of 1%! (#578/#190,811), and I'm hardly even trying. Yet the accolades keep rolling in. I rarely visit the forums (Check my MEMBER SINCE DATE). I actually go Geocaching, and also go hiking WITHOUT geocaching), I think this is post #3? So FLAME AWAY all you FORUM CACHERS!!! GM
  9. WOW!!! I'm in the top 1,000! (And I'm hardly even trying) GM
  10. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to transfer ownership of a traditional cache? I will be leaving CT for FL, and I have someone who is willing to take over the care and feeding of my traditional cache. There must be an easy way to do this, rather than me taking it offline, and someone else starting a "NEW" cache in the same place? Please comment, or provide instructions. GM GM [^]
