  1. The rescue has taken place. i emailed another cacher who has caches hidden nearby and they have been today and picked up the two coins that was in there. thats one of the many things i like about caching and the great community feeling you get.
  2. has anybody else had trouble registering on the travel bug rescue site. i know they all go missing eventually but i have one that could be in a cache that has been archived. GC285NH. It's in Yorkshire, are there any cachers local who could have a look for me please so that it could be rescued and then go missing elsewhere....
  3. without looking at the maps and off the top of my head, you could try Sutton Park . no climbing involved but lots of nice walks or you could cycle most of it. another nearby place is the Clent Hills, i have not been there myself yet but its on the list. good luck
  4. Mine is stuck in Portugal, i wonder if it would be worth flying out there and getting it on Ebay to raise some funds for my much needed new gps..
  5. It's no wonder that all these coins disappear from caches when they sell for that sort of silly money.
  6. back in april when i tried this search the nearest 500 was 10.3 miles, i have just had another look and it's down to 8.7 miles. talk about cache explosion, sadly not all quality caches...
  7. for me in walsall , 500 caches can be found in 10.3 miles, recently we have had a lot of caches set up along canals which we do have a lot of around here.
  8. i'm still up for adopting it, i must be the one who lives the nearest 0.8 mls. it was also my first find. have sent you an email.
  9. welcome to your new life. when i brought my GPS (magellan) the only thing i wished it could do is to download the co-ords from the computer to the unit because it does get annoying when you have a few to do and it saves you from getting thumb-ache.
  10. too right, thurs nights are important for some folk. do not listen to the trouble maker with the big spoon (andynelaine) great idea to meet, city centre would be good for everyone, some of us live north of brum.(overspill).
  11. Guessing the first digit "correctly" could earn an FTF for my event well done kev on reaching your 70 th. is that close enough for a FTF or a clip around the ear .
  12. I presume you are on about the "map it" symbol that you can click on to see a map of all caches, because no it no longer works on my laptop and it ain't that old. By the way this is my first reply on the forum
