  1. I think that you will find that if you had clicked the source button again when you re-entered the travel bug page all of your html would have appeared as you had left it. Eta nice job. Looks better than plain old b/w.
  2. Correct. The page has to be written in html and if I remember correctly the alt. Attribute has to be added to the img tag. Look online for examples.
  3. Yes you can. What I did was to click 'source', this then puts the edit box into html mode enabling you to place html tags and also there appears to be a box for adding inline css. I am not sure but I think that you will have to use the same tags that the cache description page supports. Try it and see.
  4. I was wondering this as well. I have a tb out travelling I will have a go and get back.
  5. The way I do puzzle waypoints is, Solve the puzzle and then on the cache page click to add a note and enter coords so that I have a record of the answer. Then slide to the waypoint screen, add a new waypoint, choose manual input option, enter numbers and save. Then you can click that waypoint to select it and then select map or compass and off you go. Agreed it would be easier to cut and paste from one screen to another but as all good cachers carry pens or pencils and paper so it's not that hard.
  6. http://www.cachesense.com/ Versions for bb10 and legacy phones. BB10 needs to be sideloaded.
  7. Yes there is, Cachesense. Brilliant, I use it on my Z10 and playbook.
  8. No problem, glad to help. Read up a bit on pq's they can be a little confusing at first, plenty of information on here. Remember to check the box for which day of the week you want to run the query, do a practice one using your home location to get the hang of it. Also read up on transferring pq's to your gpsr. Good luck. Try this http://markwell.us/pq.htm,
  9. As you're a premium member why not do a pq using your friends postcode and specify large containers and then look through the returned list for low DT ratings?
  10. GPS Gateway seems to be a vehicle tracking system, I think you'd be ok without it.
  11. Go to the garmin website and download the latest garmin communicater and drivers for your gps. install and you should be good to go, if you're using IE 11 go to the geocaching website and add to compatibility settings, click the icon on the right hand side of the header bar.
  12. Good point, I do not know if the OP has a spot in mind but co-ords are required in order to save an unpublished cache page. If a spot has been identified and co-ords are quoted to save the page but the cache is not submitted for publication and someone else plants a cache within 1/10m of them AND submits it for publication can the reviewer save the spot for the unpublished cache, assuming they can see the unpublished cache, and not allow the submitted cache to be published?
  13. Just to add, i was unable to send to my vista hcx yesterday in ie11 so I set compatibility but still couldn't load caches, garmin communicater not loaded was reported so I reinstalled it but still no joy until i downloaded the usb drivers from the garmin website and now alls ok again. Just one of those things I guess, nothing had altered on the pc bar some security updates from microsoft.
  14. Yes you can. I am doing just that at the moment, fill out the form,I used the old version, and save it but don't enable it as was stated above. You can use your home coordinates to start with if you like but remember to alter it before publication. You will be assigned a cache reference number and see how it will display, especially useful if you are using html as not all tags are supported. From your profile page click on geocaches and on the right you will find your cache, click on it and you will be taken to it's page. Make as many edits as you like but do not submit for review until ready, remember the cache must be in place when submitted. Good luck with your cache.
  15. If you let us know what type of phone you have someone may be able to help you with your choice of app. Personally I use a Blackberry Z10 running cachesense when smartphone caching. Also available on android.
  16. Edited as I was talking rubbish. Sorry, misread post.
  17. I am happy with 3. All you can eat data and 4g at no extra cost, rolling out now. BlackBerry z10. ETA when I use my mobile the accuracy is not bad compared to etrex vista hcx.
  18. Following on from my earlier post the etrex 20 has sufficient internal memory to load the map from Talkytoaster and leaves room for caches. However I recommend loading to a micro card as it's easy to drag and drop from the pc to the card whilst in a usb caddy. Good how to on the Talkytoaster faq page. Its not necessary to use a large capacity card as it's better to load caches for the area you are looking at when needed as then you have up to date information as opposed to a cache that has been on the gps for a while and may have been archived. A bit of a learning curve but there's plenty of information on this forum and you'll receive loads of help so just shout and get out there and enjoy the game.
  19. Ok, for maps see Talkytoaster on the Web, excellent maps, you will need an sd card about 2gb will do. Also load garmin communicator that will allow you to download caches from Groundspeak. For the rest someone with '20 experience will be along shortly.
  20. As it's an easy thing to figure out the names of those referred to, I think it may not be long until they break cover and perhaps offer a reply.
  21. OR,use the playbook to cache with. I use 'Cachesense' on my playbook and Z10. You can always find a free wifi connection somewhere to download nearest caches or download them in advance. The playbook has gps or you could enter the co-ords manually into the gpsr. You can then go paperless and post logs to the website from the playbook, download logs,pq's,images etc and if I bridge to the z10 I can do this in the field providing I have cell coverage. I also have a gpsr but the playbook, z10 combination is a lot more versatile. Also you can log into the Groundspeak website in a second open window to read the forums.
  22. Can't see why not. I think that you would have to upload the file to a file hosting server and link to it using html from your description. I would like to know if you manage it as I am looking to do a similar thing on a cache that I am planning to place.
