  1. Try e-mail geocaching.com people (contact@geocaching.com) and ask them to block that person, if they can.
  2. They do e-mail you when they have recieved the money and activated your account. For me, the turn-around time was very quick, considering the time the letter took to get there.
  3. Find a local cache, they click "View All Logs" and then at the bottom, there is a log with a green circle, that username next to it is a local reviewer.
  4. What servive are you using for your e-mail address? Some filter Groundspeak because of the volume they send.
  5. Its enabled for those cachers that are ahead of the Seattle server time (Uk, Austrailia, etc). It makes sense, but could be re-written for those areas that wouldn't need tohave a complety different day.
  6. It was removed in a recent update of the site. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=214112 The annoucement is located there.
  7. Did you try putting geocaching.com in your list of "Trusted Sites". Then try the site normally (http://...) I don't knwo of anyone else that's ever had a problem like this. Could it be your work's routers settings?
  8. As a creator of one of the first coordinate checking systems I think it would be a terrible idea to force cache owners to use one. I created a private one from my own caches because we were getting a lot of queries. I didn't post a link to the checker on the cache page simply so folks could make a happy discovery if they checked out our website. I created a generic solution for public consumption and others took and ran with it. Others created their own from a different angle. I think checkers are a great addition. However, I no more think they should be forced on a cache owner than they should be forced to provide a hint. Period. The option of providing automated coordinate confirmation: good idea. Being forced to provide automated coordinate confirmation: terrible idea. Again, if the process was automatic, then no one is really being forced to provide an automated coordinate checker ... it happens automatically and painlessly. What possible reason would a cache owner have for not wanting a coordinate checker in place, especially if it required no work on their part? There is this one cache in the area where 5 possible coords are given and clue can help narrow it down. If a coordinate checker was given, people wouldn't even need to fiqure out the clue to find the cache, just insert the coords and check.
  9. Yea no problems here either. I agree, I've had my e-mail address for 6 years, and I've found it much better than Gmail or others.
  10. Never. Geocaching.com like to keep a record of every cache ever placed. You just won't be able to find it after its been archieved unless you have the GC number.
  11. My little "Welcome Caching Scout" at the top of My Account is displaying: Premium Member Since: Unknown Caches Found:0 Caches Hidden:0 And my avatar has changed to a frowny face. Nothing else has been affected, my stat bar and public profile shows correct data. Problems?
  12. I've been using This site for reference and it seems to work well.
  13. Same here with Hotmail, nothing. It was about 6 hours ago too. Anyone working Sundays at Groundspeak?
  14. Visit here. Geocaching.com uses a HTMLTidy program to remove certain ones, so trial and error might let you explore farther.
  15. There is a backdoor for PM caches to be logged, just log it under your account and on that page where you enter your comments, copy that url and then log-on wiht the 2nd account, paste the link and then continue as you would normally for dropping a geocoin. And POOF, its logged and dropped.
  16. Yes you can. Just do it like a geocache. http://www.geocaching.com/adopt
  17. Mak sure to check the box that say to make it active to your reviewer.
  18. I had my jumpdrive connected when I hit "Send To GPS" and it says that my 1GB Kingston is a Supported Garmin GPS. Weird. It just saves it as a ".GPX" file under a subdirectory. It's not a big problem, but it might be something for concern.
  19. Geocaching.com has this Here. This is a map. Besides if the Garmin map is having a problem , I think its Garmin that promote geocaching on their site, not Groundspeak.
  20. Here is were the latest and last version is. It should work with the iPAQ 111 CLassic, i have the iPAQ 110 Classic, and it works for me. Supposibily the 111 is just the same as the 110. Make sure if you install via your computer to use the ".exe" and if you download to your PPC use the ".cab"
  21. And green so it is eco-friendly. And use a smaller font size so it take up less pixels in my monitor to save electricity. We should be allowed to choose the font we want for the link, instead of a remove button, how about a change font button?
  22. The is two way to do this: 1)Sign up as a premium member and get instant notifications to your e-mail. (30/year) 2)On http://www.geocaching.com/my/ under the "Search Options" bar is a option to "List Newest near (you area)" clcik it and it will search the newest
  23. http://www.geocaching.com/track/ Also, many trackable owners don't like their number placed where people can find it. If you need to post try like TB....
  24. Ibycus provides free USA topo maps that are just as good as Garmin's. His are even free. This link here describes the maps. This link Here explains how to download Mapsource (unless you already have it)
